RIP Myron Cope, Former Steelers Color Analyst

Sad news this afternoon as legendary Pittsburgh Steelers Color Analyst, Myron Cope has passed away. He was the creator of the "Terrible Towel" which is probably the most famous fan items in Professional Football (only comparable to the Cheese head).

he will be missed....he was such a huge part of that team and that town

myron embodied pittsburgh in a way that few broadcasters have ever represented their cities. he didnt only speak about pittsburgh and the steelers, he spoke for us as well. he was a pittsburgher through and through. if anyone has ever bled black and gold, it was myron. thanks for the memories myron, you may be gone, but never forgotten!
Here you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy.

The only other broadcaster that can compare with Myron as far as his identity to his team and the city/state he represents is Larry Munson, the longtime announcer for the University of Georgia Bulldogs football team.

Myron and his wit and enthusiasm will definitely be missed by this Terrible Towel waving Steelers fan.
