  • iPhone Price Drop!

Wow. The 8GB model has gone down to $399 from the original $599. The 4GB model may be discontinued...

My AT&T store is selling the 4GB for 299 till we run out of stock!

Did this phone tank or something? I usually get the latest gadgets as they are going out of style so I tend to not know the latest and greatest.

Still a little too rich for my blood.

Try $29.99 and you got a sale!

              Re: iPhone Price Drop!

lol, according to NPD, the iPhone was the number one selling smart phone for July. It's passed the 1 million mark according to apple. There haven't been any recalls, or hardware issues, and the reviews have all been positive.

So no. There's nothing wrong with the iphone. Watch as sales kick the crap out of every other phone in its bracket with this reason price drop.

Ugh, this sucks. Customers are bitching at us and want the $200 back. The customers that just bought their phone within 14 days are returning their phone and buying a new one to get some money back lol.

I was just thinking that... It's so soon that it sucks for those who bought it right out of the gate for the first round of pricing. It seems to be a bit of a kick in the face to all those customers who stood in line the day it was released.
"But every night, when it gets dark
                  and the stars come out,
I'll look up on her behalf.
I'll look up in the sky and think of you."

Yeah. I could see a year later, but 3 months? Ouch.

                      Re: iPhone Price Drop!

Steve Jobs said "We want to put a lot of iPhones in stockings this Christmas". And at that price, I'm sure he will!

I think they know exactly what they are doing. There was so much pent up demand for the iPhones on launch that they had to put them at a price point that matched their level of supply. Now that the crazies, like me, have their iPhone, they need to get the phone into a price point that matches the regular smart-phone industry.

The other side of this is that Apple likes to have their product lines in $50 step-ups. Move up from this model to the next for just $50 more (or so). This brings the iPhone down to iPod range. So perhaps you'll upgrade to an iPhone since it is practically the same price as an iPod

                      Just my take on it.

For those of you that have iPhones, how are your screens holding up? Do they get scratched easy?

As tempting as that is, I'm still planning on upgrading to a Blackberry next month.

With the exception of push email, I see no reason to switch to a blackberry. They cost roughly the same and you get LESS with the blackberry. Add in the cost of additional memory, and it costs more than an iPhone.

I haven't seen any scratches on mine. They do get a lot of my finger prints through out the day which is expected but I seem to be cleaning mine religiously.
