Knott's Berry Farm unveils 2008 Halloween Haunt mazes


Knott's Berry Farm will add six new mazes for Halloween Haunt 2008, including a movie tie-in with the upcoming horror-thriller "Quarantine," according to theme park officials.
The 36th annual Knott's Scary Farm will take place on Wednesdays through Sundays nights from Sept. 25 through Nov. 1, 2008.
The granddaddy of Halloween events will feature 13 "murder manor" mazes scattered throughout the Buena Park theme park, with early-morning construction currently underway in backstage areas.
The six new mazes for 2008:

> "Quarantine" movie tie-in
> Alien Annihilation 3-D laser tag
> The Labyrinth
> Slaughterhouse
> Club Blood
> Cornstalkers
The seven returning mazes for 2008:
> The Doll Factory (New in 2007)
> Killer Clown Kollege (New in 2007)
> Pyromaniax (New in 2007)
> Black Widow's Cavern (New in 2007)
> The Asylum
> 13 Axe Murder Manor
> Lost Vegas in 3-D

Halloween Horror Nights may be doing the same three icons as last year of Freddy, Jason and Leatherface.

HHN Hollywood will be returing Freddy, Jason and Leatherface. Though oddly enough the main icon of the event will be The Caretaker (A icon used in Florida's event.)

As for KSF, I kinda pity them that they're using a movie tie-in with Quarantine. While the concept as a maze is very good (Zombies in a apartment). I have no faith in the film itself since it's a shot for shot remake of [REC]. That and just by the trailer alone it looks acted and they give away the ending and pretty much all the good parts of the film.

..i have a feeling someone at the LA Times might be in a buttload of trouble, Knott's typically doesn't release this info until late August/early September...


...but hot dang, i REALLY can't wait for Haunt now

....its VERY surprising for maze info to be released this early. Returning Haunt monsters are just now receiving their re-hire cards, and the new hire day isn't until August 11th. I can't remember a time ever that Knott's has released the maze info before re-hire and new-hire events take place.

So until Knott's releases the information on their website, we should officially remember that all this info is un-official.

I can't wait for this. I love it. I always hoped that California Adventures would do something a little more adult themed for Halloween. I think that would bring a lot more business to that park in October. Although I’m sure that would never happen.

Well... I honestly don't know any of these mazes and am actually a bit sad because Nightmares, the Vampire one (forgetting the name at the moment) and Underground were staples for me for several years! Either way I never had outstanding memories of Haunt. It was always either "go early" and half the monsters were missing or "go late" and everything had a 2 hour line! Also I would usually come home with my ears ringing, not from my screams, but from the screams of all the teenage girls who screamed at ANYTHING including each other!

My favorite memory was in Ghosttown. A "slider" decided to scare a group of girls so he ran and slid into them. I like to call it "cheerleader bowling". Instead of everyone running... they all froze, then fell on him as he took out the whole group. It was a strike btw... no spares at all! Even now that memory makes me laugh!

I wonder if Corn Stalkers will be a "Children of the Corn" type maze.
No "Red Beards Revenge" though..boo.that always scares someone in my group. My favorite recent memory of Haunt was last year when my friends and I were walking through Ghost Town and a slider jumped out in front of a group of guys and one of the guys in the group screamed like a 9 year old girl and literally jumped back. His friends were laughing at him and ripping on him the rest of the way
