  • [Question] How does Sea World San Diego compare

to the ones in Orlando and San Antonio? What is different about it?

It's the original. There are less attractions in the way of roller coasters like the Steel Eel, Great White, Kraken, and Manta. Dolphin Discovery, Sea Lions Live, Pets Rule!, and Cirque de la Mer are all SWSD-specific shows, as are IgNight and Riptide. Journey to Atlantis is a different experience compared to San Antonio and Orlando, as well. Shark Encounter, Penguin Encounter, Manatee Rescue, World of the Sea, Aquarium de la Mer, and Freshwater Aquariums are also different.
Amnesia used to be my favourite word, but I forgot it.

It the original based in California which means it's smaller than the rest and gets way less credit than it deserves. IE, Disneyland, Universal.

Are any of the attraction a case of DL vs. WDW? For example, POTC is mind blowingly better at DL than WDW. Are any of SWSD's attractions like this when compared to the other Sea Worlds?

        Hopefully that makes sense?

I wouldn't say so. Sea World San Diego seems to focus much more on the shows and exhibits than the rides. The rides are much more of an extra in the park rather than an integral part. The Wild Arctic ride is probably the best planned out ride at Sea World, and it's probably the best one as well because it gives you a really good look at the wildlife as well as give you a thrill. The other ones are just icing on the cake in the park, but not must go ons.

The thing is that SeaWorld doesn't really have as many attractions compared to SeaWorld Orlando. They share only WildArtic, Atlantis, and Sky Tower.

I have not been to SeaWorld Orlando, but from what I have seen and heard that Atlantis at Orlando is much better (in terms of presentation) compared to San Diego which was built rather different than concept art.

Instead of "Journey To Atlantis" in San Diego, we got the Grain Silo Experience - no actual show building, and an overall lousy ride. The Mission Bay skyride still is awesome, going out over the water is worth the extra bit they charge.

journey to atlantis in florida at its peak in upkeep is much better than its counterparts in san diego and san antonio. The journey to atlantis in san antonio pales in comparison to j2a florida and california. its a water reverser ride, very short fun, but maybe no more than a minute and half.
