  • Universal Studios Battle of Galactica!

Before the Mummy and Volcano there was Battle of Galactica!

I finally looked up old footage of this (from what I think) is the best of the three attractions that have ended the tour.

Also see the Ice Tunnel Ending.

I remember Battlestar Galactica from my first trips to Universal, when I was a kid.

Actually, while Galactica was there, it was the Ice Tunnel (which you also included) that ended the tour. Galactica was the first stop and sat where The Simpsons Ride is now.

We're fortunate enough to have experienced Galactica numerous times at USH. Thankfully, we have plenty of our own pics of the experience to treasure for many years to come.

And lets not forget the burning house!

Heck, I even have a treasured pic of me "lifting up" the A-Team van!

Boy was I skinny back then!!!

How was the lifting of the A-Team van effect done?

I remember the lifting van, though it was long before it was themed as The A Team, though it was themed as part of The Six Million Dollar Man tv show, it was just a white van parked, nothing to indicate it was special other than the crowd of people taking turns to lift it.

I remember that ... I had completely forgotten the lifting van.

I really have no idea. All I remember is that it sat on concrete pads flush with the side walk, I presume to hide some sort of hydraulics

I found this online from the Six Million Dollar Man/Bionic Woman Testing Center at Universal.

They should get rid of either The Mummy's Tomb or Fast and the Furious and rebuild BSG!

Thanks for the memories! Batestar Galactica and the bionic training area I remember really well. I also remember there being a part in the bionic thing where you can bend a metal bar.

I remember going through the ice tunnel and a couple weeks later they had an episode where they used it in the Six Million Dollar Man and it was really awesome knowing I had just been through there.

But, for a short time from 1991 to 1992, Galactica was the last thing seen on the tour. When the lower lot opened in 1991, Galactica then came after the ice tunnel.

This is also when they got rid of the burning house to make way for the fire station.
"And yes, we implore EVERYBODY to follow the park rules. Having off-ride footage is great, but any still photo's or video's taken ON the coasters at SFMM are strictly against the rules. They are there for your (and everybody's) safety." "Six Flags doesn't allow ANY loose articles on their coasters, and they don't allow video taping on their coasters. " BUT, " This is not true. Six Flags does not allow ANY On-Ride video or pictures on the rides. The ONLY way is if you get explicit permission from Park Management." ???
