      It's too bad that Walt didn't have the extra cash for building the "round" roundhouse. I know the building is off-stage so it theoretically doesn't matter, but that sort of attention to detail would have been wonderful to behold.

        Well, if you've read my MiceAge article on the DL roundhouse, you'd know that my friend Preston Nirattisai took the photo. But you're right, I'll have Al place a credit in the caption.

          That was just an enthralling little story! I loved all the details and tidbits. Living so close to Barstow, I enjoyed that bit of trivia. I never realized that "Barstow" was someone's middle name. I've fallen asleep on the Ward Kimball, waking up during the stops. That is one comfy nap.

                  Great article again Steve. I'm actually glad they didn't get the Santa Fe FP-45 locomotives.
