  • 40-Year Old Virgin

After hearing Roger Ebert say Thumbs Up to this movie...I had to see it. I saw it and loved it. Anyone else want to put give their opinion/2 cents?

      Re: 40-Year Old Virgin

I just got home from seeing it.

I really liked it a lot (hence the avatar I assumed there would be a lot of gross-out humor, but there isn't. Its not over the top, its just a really great, fun movie.

Steve Carrell is an amazingly funny guy and is perfect for the part (not that he is a loser, but it is easy to see him as a nice guy who just never got the chance) There is a great metaphor in the movie (or maybe I am making connections that aren't there) about the toys he collects in boxes that aren't opened. He has a great collection of collectable action figures that are displayed in a box- it kinds represented his virginity to me. Anyways, like I said, I am probably stretching it there.....

Go see it- I'd say its probably the best film out right now. Thank god summer is almost over- fall has some great movies in store!

Ummm, no! Is he really hairy or was that just the make-up talking? I think he's cute.

The movie looks really funny but I'll probably wait to rent it.

Marge: Barnacle Bill's Home Pregnancy Test? Homer, shouldn't we have gone with a better-known brand?
Homer: But Marge, this one came with a corn-cob pipe!
Marge: [reading from the test box] "Ahoy, Maties! If the water turns blue, a baby for you! If purple ye see, no baby thar be!"
Homer: So, which is it? Blue or purple?
              Marge: Pink.
              Homer: D'oh!

I'm looking forward to it, I expect it to be pretty good!

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

This is the most pathetic thing I've ever read.
I give myself very good advice, but I very seldom follow it.
That explains the trouble that I'm always in...

I have a friend who is well on his way to reaching the 40-year old mark. He's 32, a virgin, and the last girl he kissed was at his senior prom. It was his first kiss ever, too. Sadly, I learned all these things about him when I developed a crush on him. Then the more I learned about him, I said...."WAIT! This is NOT a match for me."

                              Now, we are good friends.
