Joaquin Phoenix Walks Away From Rollover Car Crash

(AP) LOS ANGELES Police are releasing more details about a car crash in the Hollywood Hills involving actor Joaquin Phoenix.

    No one was hurt.

LAPD Officer Jason Lee says Phoenix was driving eastbound on Lookout Mountain Avenue near Laurel Canyon Boulevard shortly before 3 p.m. Thursday afternoon when his brakes went out. Lee says Phoenix lost control of his car, which overturned and collided with another eastbound vehicle.

Both parties exchanged information and no police report was filed.

There was minor damage to both vehicles.

Phoenix earlier this month won a Golden Globe for best actor in a musical or comedy for portraying country legend Johnny Cash in the biopic "Walk the Line."

Joaquin Phoenix's car overturned and crashed into another vehicle when the Walk the Line star's brakes failed Thursday on a canyon road above L.A.'s Sunset Strip, say police.

No one was injured, the Associated Press reports.

The Golden Globe-winning actor, 31, was driving eastbound on Lookout Mountain Avenue near Laurel Canyon at about 2:50 p.m. when he realized his brakes were not working, said police spokesman Officer Jason Lee.

Phoenix lost control of his car, which flipped over and collided with another vehicle also headed in the same direction, Lee said. Both parties exchanged information, and no police report was filed.

Phoenix's publicist, Susan Patricola, said in a statement that the actor was wearing his seat belt and walked away from the scene after being helped out of his vehicle by a passerby.

Yeah right, "minor" damage. Especially when you combine it with this from the other story:
after being helped out of his vehicle by a passerby
If you have to be "helped" out of the vehicle... my guess is it's pretty much screwed.

said police spokesman Officer Jason Lee
So did the cop look like this?
