Clerks II - Better than the original

So I finally saw Clerks II on DVD yesterday. I hated the original so much that when my bf put the new one on last night, I threatened that if it sucked I was going upstairs and leave him to his stupid movie.

But it didn't suck. It actually didn't suck. In fact, I'd go so far as to admit I enjoyed it and laughed. Just thought I'd share, since I know there are folks like myself who hated the original - the sequel is worth a try.

They've definitely gotten better at making movies.

yes! I thoght it was amazing! Though i liked the first one, the second one killed it with sticks. Ever since I've seen it i've been trying to make Rings fans thrown up

Personally, I thought the director's wife looked too old to be playing the part she played. But the "real" love interest was as cute as a button!

Gotta love Jay imitating Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs. That was hilarious! And I do agree that this was a great movie. I loved the original and I was trying to figure out how to make a sequel to something like that! GO INTERSPECIES EROTICA!

I really enjoyed the sequal but not quite as much as the original. The original was raw and low budget and it had a certain charm to it. The sequal was great though.

That was my absolute favorite part. I was laughing so hard I cried.
I even went as far that when I was on vacation in CO, I bought it so the people i was staying with could watch it.

I was not able to see it in the theater. I've been dropping some hints for stocking stuffer ideas. Hopefully I will get to see it on Christmas. Wouldn't that be a wonderfull film for Christmas viewing, with the whole family sitting around? :lol:

its hilarious! actually they both are, i remember just about dying when we saw Clerks in the theaters when it first came out "All Jedi had was a bunch of Muppets!" and the moment Jay did his Buffalo Bill impersonation...ZOMG!

Its nice that Kevin Smith has gone back to well thought out dialog driven films, instead of some of his other recent garbage (Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Jeresy Girl-- Barf)

I agree that the original was very special and I though Smith was an idiot for making a sequel! But, I should have had more faith in Kevin Smith, he is a freaking genius! I enjoyed Clerks II more than the first one. They have a different feel to them, it's hard to think of it as a sequel even though it has the same characters. I love both films.

Of course I am a HUGE Kevin Smith fan, I love all his movies. He is probably my most favorite film maker.
