  • Just pretend you're watching Vault Disney right now!

Hey MiceChatters! I found some fun videos on YouTube and Google which I wanted to share with everyone. Since viewing the new Walt Disney Treasures - Hardy Boys, I'm on a 1950's (and thereabouts) Disney kick. Hope you all enjoy these! Especially any Annette or Tim Considine fans.
It's like a little mini Vault Disney! Hey, we take what we can get, right? :P

I love this song..When I hear it, I often think of the "dream" in terms of everything Walt created, the company, Disneyland and his vision of family entertainment.
I think his dream has taken has taken some severe blows of the past forty years since we lost him but the flame is still flickering and with the studios return to 2D animation I see the flame getting brighter.

I thought you meant the one from the 70's (MY MMC) as that was called "The New Mickey Mouse Club".

Clicked the link to find Felicity and co singing.... kind of a letdown.

EEEK, what dribble. I'll take Wilson Phillips original (or their Spanish language verson) any day over that.

I've heard the Strummin' Song before (didn't the shermans write it?)... but what movie is it from?

The Horsemasters (1961 - with Tommy Kirk and Janet Munro), first shown as a two-part Wonderful World of Color in the States, but released theatrically abroad. Hard to find on video, as it was only ever released in the old white clamshells at expensive rental store prices.

"Strummin Song" was the Sherman's first work for a Disney film, having previously written Annette hits for Disneyland/Vista Records (Tall Paul, Pineapple Princess). From there, they did "The Parent Trap!" which was in production at the same time (along with the theme to Wonderful World of Color, and so many more in 1961).

Thanks Tinkerbelle...and, somewhat OFF TOPIC...the folks at Disney Channel are saying that there's no audience, or at least the right kind of audience, to put Vault Disney back in the late night lineup....can't miss those overnight reruns of Even Stevens and That's So Raven, right?

No audience, huh? I'd like to see them back that statement up with some numbers. I've never heard anyone say how much they can't live without Raven at 1 a.m., yet so many yearn for Vault Disney.
I say, keep the Disney Channel as garbage as it is if they want, just give us, with the more refined tastes, an entire Vault Disney Channel with all the great stuff the original Disney Channel used to be. I don't ask for much!

I wholeheartedly agree. In one thread we were given an email link to the Disney Channel's programming guy, and I made the same suggestion as I had in other previous threads.

They've made a success of ESPN Classic ( I realize that's a bit different since they took over an existing network) but still you would think that a Vault Disney channel would be a hit, much like TV Land as well.
