There really isn't a "lobby" to the studio lot, but there are gates, including a pedestrian gate. There is also a Studio Store on property. I worked at the studio in 1997 in the WDFA buidling. It's was one of the best most fun places I ever worked.

There are auto gates, I can't remember what streets they are off of, you can enter at any of them. The won't just let you in unless someone has set up a "drive on" for you, basically, your name on a list that let's you in, and then there are parking garages.

There's a gated entrance on Buena Vista Street. The parking lot is adjacent to the original studio buildings and sound stages.

The Walt Disney Studios are the only major Hollywood studios that don't have any portion of the property open to the public. You have to be working there, doing business or be an invited guest.

It is not like Universal Studio Tours, are you just taking a trip up there, or have business?

Trip. I'm acually going to the Ellen show. The NBC studios is directly next to the Walt Disney studios.

I worked up there for a few years, and you will need drive on access to get in the parking lot, and as far as I know, there are no tours of the studio, at least when I worked there. You can take pictures from the sidewalks surrounding some of the buildings, like the the Team Disney Building with the Seven Dwarfs on holding up the roof. You can always try and see what the guards say at the entrance. It might have changed since I worked there.

There are drive on gates on W. Alameda and W. Riverside drive as well (had to go to Google Maps to get the street names - it's been so long). The pedestrian entrance is on Buena Vista (or at least it was in 1997). The main entrance is off of W. Alameda. The parking garage I was referring to may be for employees only.

You can ask, but I remember, when I worked there, the guards were really strict. Even I got questioned when I would cross the street from WDFA to the main lot to go have lunch in the main comissary, had to pull out my ID every time.

So, are there ANY public places at the studios?
