the 2001 screening would be great to see. Have to see about getting up to LA from the OC in that lovely Friday rush hour traffic to get there by 6:30pm.

This is a great opportunity to see an exceptional print of the film in a wonderful setting at the Academy's Goldwyn Theatre. Visiting their lobby and hallway exhibits alone are worth the fight through traffic to Beverly Hills.

Plus Tom Hanks is easily one of the most thoughtful, passionate and terribly funny hosts around. He's an avowed spacenut so it should be a very special night.

What timing, I just watched 2001 the other night. It's too bad Arthur didn't live long enough to make it to this event. With Tom Hanks involved, this has me wondering if him and Ron Howard are still interested in making 2061: Odyssey Three and 3001: The Final Odyssey into movies.
