  • Second Quarter Earnings 2008 report released

    http://corporate.disney.go.com/inves...gs/2008_q2.pdf

Interesting to note, no mention of the Disneyland Resort (Anaheim) in the report.

Conference call is about to start, maybe we will get some news on how Anaheim is doing in the call...

    Park Attendance Numbers.

All comparisons are comparsions of 2nd Qtr 2007 to 2nd Qtr 2008 (January thru March)

And there is a significant "Shift" in attendance at the Domestic Parks this quarter, as Easter Sunday, and the 2 week Spring Break peak was in March in 2008, as compared to 2007, when it was in April (3rd Qtr).

Tom Staggs stated that both Paris and Hong Kong had Double Digit increases (over 10%)

    Domestic Parks were up 5%

    WDW was up 7%

    DLR was Flat

ORDDU: Such terrible news!! Think about it. The park with the most attractions was flat!! This will make the Managment Teams start believing that Paul Pressler was right all along--that less is more; that Disneyland has too many rides and that the only way to succeed is to keep things small as they do in Hong Kong!! Yes, indeed, what a sad, sad day...
