Re: Full D23 Expo 2009 Schedule

I hope that the release of the schedule creates more of a buzz and people start doing more than think about going to the Expo. As it is, I only have a ticket for Sunday and seeing the schedule has me thinking about getting a Saturday ticket as well.
I love my awesome crazy wonderful friends!!

I don't think that they have anything to worry about. When you go to the home show, boat show, flower and garden show, do you buy your tickets in advance? I never do. I just show up at the Expo and buy my ticket at the door.

I'm sure that the schedule will encourage a few people to buy in advance, but most people will probably treat a day at the expo exactly like they would treat a day at the park. They'll decide the day before or day of and just head off in the family wagon.

Re: Full D23 Expo 2009 Schedule

If only they'd done the Expo over Labor Day weekend, I'd so be there. (I have the Friday off along with Monday).

Unfortunately, living in the midwest and still being in school makes going to the Expo pretty much impossible.

I'm still super excited and I hope Micechatters make plenty of TRs and tell all about it

Re: Full D23 Expo 2009 Schedule

I can't wait to see how many of these events I can squeeze in during a day! I'm really going to have a hard time choosing which ones to see sometimes. I guess I'll just have to play it by ear and see how it goes (a task that is nearly impossible for Mr. Hyper-Trip-Planner).

Oh my. More and more I need to see. Sorry I hadn't planned on attending the entire event, not just two days.

Re: Full D23 Expo 2009 Schedule

So the only Disney Channel presentation is the Wizards of Waverly Place one, right? I imagine it won't be worth me sitting through it to ask why there isn't a 'Vault Disney' or Grown-ups channel of classic programming. I don't recall seeing any channel honchos listed as being in attendance.

I'm going to be there Sunday. It looks awesome! I would consider going on Saturday too but I'm going to a Greek festival in LA that day.

Re: Full D23 Expo 2009 Schedule

How long is everyone going to give themselves in line to wait for each presentation? Do you think this will be like comic con where you needed to be in line for 2+ hours before the event? What does everyone think the popular ones are going to be?

I'm think I'll give at least an hour before everything I want to see, however I'll give myself an extra hour (total 2 hours) for "The Future of Disney and Pixar Animation."

I'm not sure about the "Princess and the Frog" one which is Saturday at 3pm. I also want to see "Growing Up Disney" at 12:30, but I'm not sure if that would be cutting it close.

Man, I wish there were previous expos so we can have some experience with this.

Re: Full D23 Expo 2009 Schedule

The capacity of the arena is 4,000 and the capacity of Storytellers Theater is 500, but does anybody know the capacity for the Walt Disney Studios Theater and Stage 23? If we know the capacity of each room, it should give us a better indication of what we might need to wait longer for if the presentation is that important to us.

I went to anaheimconventioncenter.com and looked at seating capacities. On level 3 where the Walt Disney Studios Theater is scheduled to be, the combined theater seating capacity looks to be about 5,391 (adding all 3 rooms together)

Level 2 has so many different things listed, it would be hard to venture a guess as to the number of seats.

I think knowing how many people were going would help too.... I can't imagine it would be anywhere close to Comic Con. I've also been to other smaller cons where you just had to show up 15 minutes prior to the presentation and you get in.

I guess with everything in life, it's best to expect the worst. I'm happy that most of the things I want to see are on Sunday, so I have some time to get to know how the presentations work.
