I recently saw 'Becoming Jane' and it made me curious as to Jane Austin's life. Are there any books about her?

    Thanks a ton!!

Right after I saw the movie, I went to Barnes and Noble and saw a book that was about her, but with a strong emphasis on the movie. It was Becoming Jane Austen by Jon Spence. It looked good, but I didn't buy it because she isn't one of my favorite authors. I don't know if you'd still be able to find it in the store, but it's on their website.

What Jane Austen ate and Charles Dickens knew by Pool is awesome. Though it is more about what it was like to live in that time more so than a biography. The Annotated Pride and Prejudice is good because there are tidbits about Austen as well as deeper explanations as you're reading along. I've also heard Becoming Jane Austen is good and it's on my list but I've yet to read it.

I read "What Jane Austen Ate and Charles Dickens Knew: From Fox Hunting to Whist-The Facts of Daily Life in Nineteenth-Century England" by Daniel Pool, and while not specifically about Jane Austen, it is a good read about the times.
