  • The Sims 3

So who's getting excited for this?
Even though I love the Sims I was going to pass on this, until I heard they were adding a Nevernude personality type.

I'm getting excited about it. I have been aware about it, for a few months now. Though, I'll miss the vampires when thinking of Sims 2.

Hopefully they will already be there for Sims 3. It looks like they might be.

I can't wait. Although I would like to upgrade my computer first. Have they released the specs yet?

I love the Sims. But I have a Mac so I'll have to wait for a while until they release it for Macs.

I am still collecting the expansion packs for Sims 2 dammit!

What the heck is this Nevernude personality? I am addicted to Sims 2, I am ashamed to say.

Doesn't look too different from Sims 2 from what I've seen :/

I stop collecting just as soon as I heard there was going to be a Sims 3. I love The Sims games. But I felt it was going to be all a waste once Sim 3 came around.

I've sold most of my Sims 2 expansion packs on Half.Com, made a good bit of money off of them. Can't wait for 3!

I was a big Sims fan. Bought Sims 2 and sort of lost interest at some point. I'll probably buy 3, but unless it offers extremely enhanced game play, I may not play it for long.

I was the same with the last Sim City. I couldn't wait for it, but then played it for about a week and never opened it again.

I just look at this as part of the game. I've spent about $650 on The Sims 2 over the last 4 years (ALL EPs and SPs - and ALL Prima Guides), and I've had a blast with it. It's about the same cost as an MMORPG (about $13 a month) - but at least I'll own these games forever.

As for The Sims 3, I'm looking very forward to it. Looks like it might be delayed from the release date of Feb 20th - but I thought that a 6 month turnaround from TS2:Apartment Life to TS3 was too fast.

The gameplay has changed. Instead of focusing on the micro-management of Needs, the Sims are much smarter - and work on their own needs. Instead, the goal of the player is to mold the lives of The Sims. The days of only being stuck on your lot - or just loading to another lot are gone. Instead, time now passes across all lots (if you want) - so while you're working on your family, other actions are taking place in the Neighborhood. There's loads of new job options, and all kinds of cool stuff. EGM did a a great overview several months ago about it, and SnootySims has all the latest news.
