Thanks for both posts. I had no idea that a Manga had been released on KH. And to find a site that allows you to download the entire 2 volumes is great.

Thanks Micah! I'm sure that FigmentJedi didn't intend for his post to come across so rude.

I don't understand what the whole "Manga" thing is. Is it just a comic book?

Re: Kingdom Hearts - The Manga

It's a Japanese graphic novel, or long comic book if you will.

            By the way, you're welcome!

Re: Kingdom Hearts - The Manga

Dusty, Manga is indeed a comic book. Usually they are based on Anime (Japanese Animation) either TV series or Movies, which are usually based on the TV series. It is a very complicated system as there are hundreds of these Manga Books published on a weekly basis. They are divided into many catagories as well. Manga for boys, Manga for girls, Manga for Giant Robot lovers, Manga for Supernateral, Manga for Science Fiction, and it goes on and on. And these are not like out comics over here. Usually, though not always, they are smaller in size, a little bigger than our paperback poclket books, but much thicker. Some are magazine size. The one thing they have in common is that they range in thickness from 100 to 400 pages. That's weekly! The covers and sometimes the first 3 or 4 pages are in color, the rest are in black and white. They are read from what we consider the back of the book, roward the front, left to right. It does take some getting used to.

There is a huge Japanese Department Store in Downtown Los Angeles that has a big bookstore on the first floor entrance. Half the store is devoted to Manga all sorted by catagory and then by title. They also carry many Japanese version of magazines that are also published over here. Starlog, for instance, in the Japanese version is thinker by about 100 pages, printed mostly in color, on slick glossy paper throughout with heavy card stock semi-glossy covers. The US price here is around $10 per issue. Though the text is in Japanese, the photos make up for that and the magazine is 100 time better than the U.S. version. Diamond Catalog, the one than most comic book stores and smaller toy stores order from, now has many Manga offered as it's getting bigger and bigger, along with the DVD Anime, here. Hopes this helps.

The web version is nice, but i'd rather have something tangible. Thanks for the news Micah!

Re: Kingdom Hearts - The Manga

Well the site does have a download page for both volumes. You can download them and then print them out. That's what I am going to do. And it looks like what's there is it as the manga company that was publishing the books has lost the license so they won't be able to finish them. I have never seen the books themselves at any of the Manga Stores that are all around this area.

Re: Kingdom Hearts - The Manga

I forgot that I ordered Volume 1 from the Comic Shop I work at sometimes and it came in this past week. The new order book for December has Volume 2 so I am going to order that on as well. It is very different yet the same, as the game.

I found screen shots of KH2 and it looks very good. Even a black and white Steamboat Willie sequence with even Sora as the skinning arms and legs. Also the Pirates sequence looks cool.
