Good news that John could come back, although honestly John seems semi-retired and I was surprised JJ didn't sign up Michael Giacchino instead.

I wouldn't be surprised if Giacchino steps in as an arranger position, much like John Williams did for the 2nd Harry Potter film where William Ross assisted in arranging because of Williams' schedule.

Michael has already worked with John Williams on Star Tours the Adventures Continue so I wouldn't throw that out just yet.

I can't imagine a Star Wars film without John Williams. His music is the soul of the movies.

Maybe they can bring in the guy who wrote the music for the Observatron, or "The medley of John Williams Knock-Offs" as I call it.

John Williams and Star Wars are a team. They make the films work with all of the other factors involved. In fact the only thing that I loved about the prequels(aside from Ep III) was Johns' lovely musical score.

Just to be clear, one of the pieces that is in the music for the Observatron is from the film The Rocketeer, which was composed by James Horner.

:lmao: Love the captioned picture in your signature!

Some of the greatest composers like Williams and Zimmer have understudies or proteges that learn their styles and reflect them. I think Klaus Badelt is one example who composed the score for the first Pirates movie, but was overseen by Hans Zimmer.

Parts may be filmed in London. I know for a fact that one of my friends, who is a freelance set-builder for various production teams, as of a few weeks ago has started working on the sets for the next film. This is all happening in Hollywood.
