I was debating whether or not to start a topic about this in the debate lounge but decided against it.

I've become increasingly frustrated with the lack of manners. Sure sometimes you hear a "please" or a "thank you" when you're out people watching, but what about the other types? It's frustrating that our society has become casual to the point of rude. Growing up every Dec. 26th my dad sat my siblings and I down to write out thank you cards for people that sent us holiday gifts. I love doing this, it's something now as an adult I take pleasure in doing. And I write thank you cards for gifts but also experiences or simple things. Like if a colleague let me observe her classroom I write a thank you card, or a note my grandma sent me wishing me luck on a project. This year I stamped my own and went crafty on them because people get a smile out of knowing you took the time to thank them properly. A facebook message isn't a thank you card either. I'm tempted to call people out on their rudeness. People expect during the holiday times gifts and without thanking the givers. I know it is better to give than recieve but part of giving, the circle of communication, is the message that the gift was recieved and it was welcomed.

I don't know. I'm just frustrated with people right now. Sorry for the rant.
