Re: The Recent Toy Acquisition(s) Thread II
I went to Burbank TRU around 4:30pm and picked up a lone kevin flynn lightcycle as well. (it's the white one) for $14.99. I asked if they had any more and they said that was it.
I also picked up the Robot Chicken Robot w/ Dryer figure set for $12.99. Ever since I saw that skit, I wanted a humping robot action figure!

Re: The Recent Toy Acquisition(s) Thread II
Thanks for the MOTUC Whiplash, Coheteboy!
I got these yesterday from Walmart
I had a gift card so I decided to use it on Human Alliance Sideswipe. 6" Mark V and McFarlane Playmakers Tony Romo were impulse purchases.
Also picked up some of the Tron Legacy diecasts today. I just couldn't pass up that Recognizer! photos to come...

Re: The Recent Toy Acquisition(s) Thread II
I opened up Tron Legacy Rinzler and he is just as great a figure as the Black Guard.
I have to admit that I'm not too sure if this line will do well. Collectors alone won't make it a successful line as kids need to buy the product as well. However, there's obviously no nostalgic pull for them and so it might just be another toy line of guys in high tech suits, just like Iron Man 2 figures. Which do not sell all that well.
I may want more Rinzlers to use as Daft Punk figures.

It's probably not going to happen.
That diecast is really nice, btw. The translucent orange parts are plastic obviously but the rest of the body is diecast metal and it feels quite heavy.

I asked Spin Masters. No on the Recognizer. The toys would have to sell AMAZINGLY WELL for it to be made, and even then, won't be for awhile.
If the Legacy toys do very well, they will have plans to do the vintage movie toys and THEN after that, a Recognizer might happen. More likely it would happen if there's a sequel to Tron Legacy.
It's often rare for movie toys to do that well past the release of the film. Transformers can do it because there's already a built-in following of transforming robot toys. G.I.Joe Rise of Cobra didn't have the same fortune.
And those die cast look awesome! $3.99 is about right because the SDCC exclusive light cycle was $5.

Now I'm off the hook for not buying him at SDCC though worst case scenario, I could have bought the import version.
I am hear that the Rodimus Prime one that Hasbro will do will not come with his trailer. He may come with his Targetmaster Firebolt exspet. Not to sure if I want Rodimus or Hot Rod if it is going to be him with his Targetmaster. So if this is ture maybe u better get the Japan's verison when he comes out.

Re: The Recent Toy Acquisition(s) Thread II
I'd rather have Hot Rod than Rodimus.
Anyhow, MP Grimlock is really awesome!!!!
Coheteboy and Capt. Hook had a few photos of theirs so I'll have to see if I can come up with something creative.

He is like his G1 verison minus his hands and tail.so I did look a bit at the instructions. Still it was pretty easy to figure out unlike the movie Transformers. I don't know how kids can have fun with those when they can take so long to transform. If you're making your own battle scenes, it's kind of hard when it takes 5 minutes just to transform from vehicle to robot or vice versa.
