San Diego Comic Con Collectible Coverage

Hello to my fellow toy geeks. Looking for a place to post cool collectible news you hear from San Diego Comic Con? Well here is the place.

Sideshow has finally given us pictures of their 12 inch Grevious and Boba Fett.

I think I regret not buying the Star Wars Death Star 14 pack...I only wanted a few figures from the set but I don't know why it didn't occur to me to get it and sell/trade away what I didn't want along with the Death Star package. Oh well, too late now.

It was mentioned in just about every toy forum I go to

And I guess around that time it was offered, pay $15 for $30 of HTS credit btw, I was so worried about not making it to SDCC that I neglected to tell all of you.

Today's HTS sale was quite the debacle it seems. Site time outs, the old now it's in your cart now it's not because it's sold out. Congrats Mattel, you have surpassed Hasbro! Hasbro, the cone of shame for you!!!

And it should say something that I actually got what I wanted from Hasbro today yet I'm still upset at them.

Some of Hasbro's convention exclusives are now available on HasbroToyShop. It seems they're just putting up some of the items at a time, currently the Death Star set, Ultimate Optimus Prime and Starscream Skystriker to prevent site crashing. Don't forget to use the "COMIC2011" code for 10% off!

Starscream was the one time I ever passed up an exclusive while at the con (bought the limit of one but offered it to a friend) only to see it sell out and regret my decision. That has now been rectified as I just ordered one and paid just $18.92 for it thanks to that Groupon offer for HTS a few weeks back.

On a side note, it's a lot easier to follow news and developments like Melonballer has been doing, from home over actually being at the convention

Some of the Marvel Universe annoucements were terrific. Finally more female characters, like She-Hulk, Jubilee, and Scarlett Witch. Also we are finally getting Nova.

If I was there, and had some extra money, the only thing I would pick up is that unreleased Indiana Jones figures set.

Updated info on the DCUC cancelation. The current line is ending, but a new line in the same scale is coming after. Basically, just like the DC universe, the Line is being rebooted. There will be some figures sold at retail.

That is correct. Wave 20 is the last wave for retail. They will be Matty Collector only for now.

From what I hear Jay and Starman, Atrocius are not in wave 20 but part of the new Matty online subscibion coming next year. Also what I read Wave 20 is the last for DCUC for retailers. It's kind of sad that it is the end for them but not that much. I was running out of room for them so when Rev. Flash and Red Arrow come out they will be the last for me to get.

So I was looking at Figures.com's coverage and I have to say I like the Catman figure coming from Mattel in the Batman line.

I am disappointed that Mattel does not have a prototype of their upcoming Hot Wheels A-Team van on display. Also I am disappointed in the DC comics Hotwheels. Who decided what character goes with which car? I mean Flash a Station Wagon? WTF?

Not much to get really excited about yet. I figure we will see some new Star Wars figures soon.

I just noticed that 4-LOM is getting a 12 inch figure too. Still I have to wonder if I should wait for the Hot Toys versions of the characters and abandon the Sideshow toys. hmmm.

Toyark.com has pictures of new Marvel Universe figures, including Patriot, Psylocke, Beta Ray Bill, and a new Hulk figure.
