  • Dave Avanzino's Tower of the Four Winds

I've JUST discovered this piece of art. Have any of you seen it?

    http://www.mousetreasures.org/avanzino/4winds.shtml

Absolutely amazing. It's from 2001. An extrememly limited edition size of 3 retailing originally for $1200 by special order thru Disney. Surely sold out moments after being offered for sale.

If I EVER catch WIND of one being offered for resale....it WILL be mine! At ALL costs....

If I recall correctly, it was made based on the orders over a certain period of time, they had one on display in Disneyana and I guess only 3 people ordered it when it was offered. It was a great piece. I wish I would have had the cash for it back then.

Don't know if it's one of these or a model, but there was a model of the Tower of the Four Winds in the Contemporary, in WDW, right by the elevators on the Grand Canyon Concourse.
      It's a Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah...Tip for Today!

Oh that old thing? I have 3 hanging in my hallway. I wish, Liane, cause one WOULD be yours, my friend!

Since this is the most recent post talking about Dave's work, I thought I would share a pic I just found.

            awww so cute!
            Good morning, son
            In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
            It was pain
            Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

Re: Dave Avanzino's Tower of the Four Winds

I would have been #4. Bought it sight unseen during the preorder, then got buyers remorse and cancelled the order. Thought there would be even cooler stuff at the Disneyana Convention and there was not. Sure wish I would held onto the Tower. Better yet, I would like the one on display at the Contemporary.

I forgot to mention that David had this piece on display at the 2001 Disneyana Convention. It was simply amazing.
