      Hi there collectors!
I thought that I would chime in on this since I'm going to be a part of it in a couple of weeks. I visited the artist signing booths yesterday (April 19th) and saw David Bird and Elisabete Gomes displaying and demonstrating their beautiful artwork. It was a very nice set up. They are located next to the bridge that takes you over to the food areas at Pacific the Wharf. I'm not sure why they call if the "Flower Garden" but that's where it is located. I will be there on May 3rd and 4th from 1-4pm.

I plan to have a "hands-on" project for you to work on as well as various items for sale. I've attached a flyer I sent out this past week.

I hope to see some of you there. Please stop by and say hello!
      Dave Avanzino

Just got back from DCA and checking out what Dave Avanzino had.

He has the sketches of the Jungle Cruise box, very awesome! The letters are all perfectly choosen and even the frame/box itself is very nicely themed! I can't wait for next year.

He had some very nice pieces avaiable including the Original Tinkerbell of the Limited Edition one that is avaible in the park, a couple differeneces in how it was assembled due to the fact it was being made with the original painting. Very nice. Also he had a Giclee of the image from the Tinkerbell shadow box. Very nicely done, his work still looks amazing even flat. Also was a nice lower cost compaired to the 3D version.

Some prototypes, including the Indiana Jones one from the event in 2005, the Snow White and Prince. A Lock Shock and Barrel that was from the edition from Disney Auctions. And several one of a kinds including a gaint Evil Queen in the Magic Mirror! Very nice. I believe I heard it mentioned it was 40 inchs tall, over 3 feet, really amazing piece, sold almost instally on Saturday. Other one of a kinds featured a Lilo and Stitch, Mickey as Captain Jack Sparrow, a Minnie Mouse and one featuring the Food and Wine Festival logo.

              .

Did anyone take some pictures of the Jungle Cruise box? That would be a neat preview to see.

I didn't have a camera. And I wouldn't have taken a picture unless I got permission. I don't believe the piece has gotten the final approval, but it is awesome! There was only artwork of what it would look like, both head on and one to so how the frame will be around it. Then there was pictures of each letter next to actual photos from the ride showing the inspiration for each letter. And he had the letter "R" sculpted out.

GhostHost, thanks for the information. I am anxious to see the jungle cruise piece. Didn't want anyone to take pictures that were not approved by Mr. Azanzino. He is really talented and I want to get some of his work.

I found this pic of the Food and Wine Festival piece.

It looks even better in person.
