I agree as well. I think of my bears as my friends. Not babies. I actually saw a kimono I want to get for my Shellie May. ^_^

Yeah no onesies or diapers on my bears. They're not babies. Not to me. Like Naelyan, I like the clothes from BAB because they're more "grown up". There's some BAB stuff that I wish came in human sizes. I've had all sorts of people randomly come up and say, "Your bears are so cute! Where did you get their outfits?" People seem to go the most nuts over Duffy's "Chucks" high-tops. There's just something about a bear wearing shoes that makes people squee.

New to the forum so hopefully I make this post ok! I absolutely adore this thread, I love seeing photos of everyone's Duffy bears.

Here is a photo of my Duffy on his recent trip to Disneyland Paris, he was even lucky enough to get hugs from Duffy himself!

I do buy some baby clothes (at Goodwill) for my bears, but it can be hard because a lot of the stuff can be either too big, or too babyish. It's funny, I find the boy clothes to be the biggest problem with this, because it seems like there's always nothing but onesies or cutesey things that say stuff like "Mommy's little man" on them. I do have a pair of newborn sized grey sweatpants (Carters) for Lil D that fit him quite nicely. I've altered a few baby clothes for Duffette, mostly dresses. Don't want to go hunting for photos right now, but her Fourth of July dress, her seashell dress (from the pics of the bears with their beach chairs), and her Winnie the Pooh tanktop (which actually started out as a dress...don't ask) are all baby clothes. There's other altered baby stuff that I haven't taken pictures of her wearing yet.

I'm glad that Duffy can be whoever he and his Tender want him to be over here, even if that means he's a baby.

I really like the 9" bears--I think the proportions are more like Duffy than the 12" bears. If they would've been out when I got my 12" Duffy, well, I probably wouldn't have gotten a 12" Duffy at all.

It's well known that I prefer Duffy the Adventurer and Proprietor Who Walks in Dreams to the overly childish, clueless version presented in the stage shows since My Friend Duffy The gap between "show" Duffy and merchandise/greeting/park/Cape Cod/Greeting Place/Storybook Duffy is just HUGE now, and I strongly favor the latter.

That said, as long as the juvenile show version does not become definitive and dominant, I could not agree more with Eeee-va. Every Duffy is different, and every Duffy is Duffy. There's room for baby Duffy, just as long as that's not the central characterization. That's the problem, as Eeee-va also articulated so well, with any talking Duffy TV project — they will have to choose a voice and persona that runs the risk of having many fans feel, "Hey! That's NOT Duffy!!" …And yet, no matter what that characterization is, it will almost definitely become the dominant public perception of the character unless fans are extremely committed to jamming the message. A world where Duffy doesn't talk is likely the best way to ensure long-term success.

I used to cringe at the voice in the Tokyo shows. But what bothers me more is that I've adjusted to it, and it's affected the way I see Duffy. I now accept the voice…kinda. But I will NEVER accept a version of Duffy that is always confused and all the time having Mickey and Minnie and TippyBlue explain things to him. Even as a baby, the Duffy I love knows secrets and mysteries and magic beyond my wildest dreams, where he walks and Brings Love…and Happiness and Luck.

Just a Duffy photo I want to share:

We Duffeteers know that Duffy is a huge fan of the world's fashion, and dedicated Duffy fans the world over have made custom outfits for their bears. Here is one example that I made for Duffy:

It's simple, yet stylish. The design for this outfit is influenced by the latest in European fashion. The piece of his outfit that I like the most is the beret. To make it his own, I have added the "D" from the logo on the beret.

What do you guys think of this?

That red just makes me think of Shellie, MikkiMausu. It reminds me a lot of Moonrise Kingdom, which is a sewing project I'd like to do someday. My bears just love that movie!^^

Hi, Tenchikiss, try calling the Disney Parks and see if they can connect you with a customer service representative in either Disneyland or Disney World merchandise. In the past I've successfully ordered merchandise that was either not available online or sold exclusively at the theme parks. They may be able to help you acquire one of the Valentine's Day Duffies.

Honestly, it reminds me of the UNIT uniforms on Doctor Who. I think it's the beret.

Yeah I've seen videos of the My Friend Duffy show and it annoys me how clueless he is, but.... if you think about it... in the show, Duffy JUST came to life, so he WOULD be a bit clueless about the ways of the world.

That's true, especially in the first act where he even has trouble speaking. It's like he takes a while to come to full understanding of what just happened. The thing is, compared to his "can do" spirit in the rest of the park, and seasonal events, he seems too timid and gullible in the show. I understand he might not know what's going on, but he seems like the kind of bear that would dive in head-first to find out what it is. Instead of getting scared and wanting to run away. Although I do admit it's kind of funny when TippyBlue tries to talk to him and Duffy basically brushes him off with a "sayonara". Maybe that's his way of knowing Tippy isn't the most reliable source to trust? Also, I like how Mickey catches the act and stops Tippy from scaring Duffy any further. Still, I'm not sure I like cowardly Duffy.

Since my Duffy can't go to sleep without a bedtime story, here is Mickey and Duffy reading their story from last year's Spring Voyage.
