    • Next we went to Mammoth Springs State Park.

Gabriella isn’t scientifically minded so it took her awhile to comprehend the electrical component.

      https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-c...lectricity.JPG

Shellie May observed the pretty scenery.

      Gabriella and the dogwood tree.

She sure is a flower child.

Duffy read about the Frisco caboose.

Of course, he also wanted his picture in front of it.

"I will be careful," he said as he climbed aboard.

      And did more climbing inside.

Shellie May was more interested in the CDs with railroad songs on them. When we got back home, we were disappointed to discover that the library does not carry any music by Wayne Erbsen, but not disappointed enough to pay the $14.95 price tag for music we didn’t even know if we would like.

Duffy was ELATED when a real train passed by.

Hillbilly Clyde wanted to visit the fish hatchery so we did.

Hillbilly Clyde then viewed the actual spring.

      Gabriella found more interesting fauna.

Shellie May also enjoyed looking at the spring.

Gabriella then invited Shellie May to join her for a photo in front of this flowering bush.

Geez, it's goign to take me forever to post the vacation saga if it works like that but let me know if you can see those above first before i start doing it.

I appreciate everyone's patience. Da bears and I are not that patient. Right now they're taking a nap from brain drain.

            • So this is from Maihama Station, which is the station you get off at to see Tokyo Disney Resort. Awwwww!

This was just in Ikspiari! :o

When we went to Tokyo DisneySea the next day, it was an early closing day and lightly raining. Even so, some people took their Duffy fandom very seriously!

First photo of my Shellie May in Tokyo DisneySea! We headed right toward Mount Prometheus to see Journey to the Center of the Earth and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. (Most people went to Toy Story Midway Mania, but we figured we can ride that in California.)

They had Crystal Points all around the park, where you could activate your Crystal Compass. (see http://www.tokyodisneyresort.jp/en/event/tds15th/ ) The place where you set your compass was also a good fit for my SS-size ShellieMay to sit! This is Goofy's.

DisneySea is a good park for wandering. This is around Mermaid Lagoon!

Actually, all trip, Donald's wishing point seemed to have issues...I mean, somehow Shellie May's magic made the point light up!

Ready to explore the Temple of the Crystal Skull with Indiana Jones!

We went back and rode StormRider (which was even better than DuffyD's post led me to believe!). Then we took the DisneySea Electric Railway. There's even a great view from the queue area!

And it was on the railway that I saw American Waterfront, an area themed to 1910s New York, and I fell in love with Tokyo DisneySea!

              I just can't...!

The S.S. Columbia! And they let us ON!

              It is pretty big.

What a great view! This is from the bow of the ship, which was deserted. (As we finished up, a Japanese group came up and seemed very excited that the ship wasn't busy, so I wonder if it is usually crowded...)

By the Teddy Roosevelt Lounge, which hadn't yet opened for the day.

              And the purser's desk...!

"May I stow your valuables? Tee hee."

"Goodbye, S.S. Columbia! I love you!"

                • Thank you so much, JillT!

After the S.S. Columbia, we had a bit of time before our Fastpass, so we got to visit....CAPE COD!

It was a ridiculously uncrowded day, I think because the park was scheduled to close early, it was right before the 15th anniversary started, and it was a drizzly kind of day. Great news for us tourists, though!

They had this darling display where your bears/cat could look out together, or look at you together! (or alone)

We made a quick visit to Aunt Peg's just to get the lay of the land.

                  SO CUTE!

Medals! Basically like pressed pennies, except the disc is provided in the machine, and it's not a penny. In Japan they have a metal plate on the right side that you can use to try to flatten your medal while it's hot.

That lighthouse you see in photos and occasional merchandise? Yes, you can actually go right up to it!

And from the lighthouse, I spied some girls or women posing their own bears for a photo!

We stopped for some Duffy tea...I bought my friend one too because I wanted a set of cup sleeves I got the cold tea, mixed berry flavor. I don't like berries but the berries on the bottom weren't bad. Yay for Duffy tea!

I'll have more photos of Cape Cod again to share later! And more of the Disney parks in Tokyo

My duffy has a wonky patch of fur in the middle of his 'mickey ears' so I made it into a little twirl! I'm keeping it!

I've seen it on a few bears actually! I know some people seek out perfect symmetrical looking bears (nothing wrong with that at all) but I really love the extra fur

Yes they are! It works better in Duffy because his feet are bigger, whereas in Shellie May the frame points her feet a little bit. It's so fun to pose them!

And thank you, Mercy! We were ridiculously lucky on our trip. The park was not crowded at all!

                            Tower of Terror!

                            New York City bears!

Heeeey, that looks familiar! (Disney put one in Disney California Adventure too )

I am pretty sure one of these is the Gelatoni I picked out! I made sure to get him from Mediterranean Harbor.

I think Tokyo DisneySea is probably the only place I would be excited to see steam coming out of a volcano.

                            Arabian Coast!

It is not every day that a genie carries you around!

The park is just insanely photogenic.

                            Under the sea!

                            • My sister and I just returned from a 8 1/2 day trip to Paris (actually 11 days but it was 8 1/2 days of actual sightseing due to travel time).

We went to Disneyland Paris for a day. Many of the rides were down for maintenance, but there was only one that was down that we don't have here. For some reason even on a weekday the Dumbo line was 40 minutes, but everything else was 5-10! YAY! They don't have shows other than the parade and fireworks, both of which we watched.

The park was alot of fun and we got to see the whole thing. MASSIVE SISTER BONDING!

We also did all the main Paris sights, the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, 2 days on the Big Bus, 1 night illumination tour, a day trip to Mont St. Michel (an abbey built on a sand flat that floods every 12 hours with the tide; we climbed to the top and explored the town below), two chateaus (Vaux de Vicomte and Fountainbleu), cruise on the river Seine, Sacred Heart, Saint-Chappelle, Arc de Triomphe, and I"m sure I'm forgetting some things.

We had a blast. I gained 4 lbs. from their bakery goods, which are no more than 200 feet away from the next bakery! There were three within less than a block from our hotel and one of them was our favorite so we went there every day (sometimes twice a day LOL).

Anyway, I got Duffy two new outfits, and I didn't like the Shellie May clothing so I purchased a bunch of French music CD compilation from FNAC, their large electronic/music/book store (like a Best Buy combined with Borders).

They also got 2 new siblings. One is Mohawkan, Jr., the same as my sister's mohawk bear with the musical design. Since my sister and I are both music maniacs, I knew these music bears would be happy in my home as well as Lori's. I had gotten her Mohawkan for Christmas. They both have a murse (man purse) that holds their MP3 player.

I also adopted a pink with brown and pink heart ears and paw and brown heart nose Build-A-Bear named Francesca. She was eking out a hand to mouth existence selling flowers on a street corner in Paris. I know some French so I asked if she'd like to live in the United States where she would never have to work again and wouldn't have a worry in the world. "Oui!" she said, thrusting a handful of flowers at me and abandoning her inventory to clap her paws in glee. She only speaks French but Duffy and Shellie May have welcomed her. Shellie May opened up the closet and pointed to all the clothes and Francesca said, "tres joli", which means very pretty, and picked out something to put on.

With all my media, I'm sure she'll learn English quickly, and Shellie May, Mohawkan, AND Duffy and the other bears are going to listen to my French music CDs and learn some French.

I'm not going to post pictures since that doesn't work anymore, but I just wanted to say hi to everyone.

I am going to try and list where to find my own bear pictures in another thread, but in case you are not looking there, I am on Facebook as Shelly May, Twitter @shelliecocobear, and I post the most on Instagram as shellie.may.bear ----on all of these I use the same profile picture of the original bear my neice brought into our lives that started the Duffy love in our family I LOVE SEEING YOUR PHOTO STORIES!!!! • It makes me sad not to post the pictures also. I'm not on facebook; I don't do social media except LinkedIn by force because it's sort of required in Corporate America.

Right now Francesca, Mohawkan Jr. and Shellie May are listening to my French CDs. Music is the universal language.

                                    • JillT, Tumblr is by nature pretty much completely anonymous, though it's probably considered social media. I think Blogger can be anonymous too, if you use a Google account that isn't linked to you personally. (Twitter is even more anonymous than Blogger and MIGHT work for you, but I struggle with that platform's character limits.)

Or you could make PDFs using Word and find a place to upload them (not sure WHERE--I'm not sure if MiceChat allows you to upload PDFs but I'm pretty sure yours would be too big either way; I just tested with a 1-page PDF and they said it was too big). A web search for "where to upload pdfs" shows a lot of places, but I didn't look into any to see if they are safe or whatever.

                                      • I went to get a drink of water this morning. It is going to be 97F today and it was 95F yesterday. Aluki, my rainbow polar bear, was relaxing in her lounge chair in the refrigerator!

"Most bears hibernate in the winter. I refrigerate in the summer. It's just TOO HOT! I'll come out when the leaves start changing colors," she informed me.

                                        • Backing up a bit.

Duffy and Shellie May were enthused about their souvenirs from France. They each got a set of Disney pens. Duffy got 2 outfits from Disneyland Paris. Shellie May got a stack of French CDs from an amazing store called FNAC (they have an online store, too).

                                          FNAC is pronounced feh-NACK

Music is the universal language. Francesca came over to look at the CDs.

                                          Fete means festival in French.

Shellie May opened the closet and motioned for Francesca to pick out something to wear.

"Tres joli," said Francesca of all the clothes (very pretty).

Francesca now looks like a Disney princess.

Mohawkan, Jr. pulled the CDs and the ipod over to his side.

11344 songs in my itunes library will keep him, another music maniac like my sister's Mohawkan, busy for awhile.
