  • Is Your Duffy getting to floppy?

My Duffy was. The stuffing in his arms was totally flat and the stuffing in his tummy was getting flat as well. Was at the point some of his pants were too big for him in the waist and I had to tuck them with a safety pin. Duffy was not happy and said he wanted to be fat.

Well, last week, I took Duffy to my local Build A Bear and asked if they could open him up and add more stuffing. I was a little skeptical because they wouldn't even touch his foot when the stitch popped a couple years ago, but one of Duffy's "cousins" on Twitter had it done at their BAB with success, so I figured I'd give it a shot. Worst they could do is say no and I'd just wait for my aunt to get back to her sewing. I asked and they said sure! The store wasn't busy so they got his back opened and I helped add more stuffing to him to make him nice and fat. They even did a good job sewing him back up! Duffy is quite happy, though some of his clothes fit a little tight now.

Oh and when I asked how much... they said no charge and said if he ever needs more stuffing again or if any of my other stuffed friends need some extra fluff to bring them by!

Glad to hear aimster! I was concerned about this happening to my Duffy, I'm happy to hear that BAB will help out! Did Duffy get any new clothes at BAB while he was there?

Not this time. We did a double feature at the movies though (Monsters University & Despicable Me 2) and did the "surgery" between the movies as BAB is just a few doors down from the movie theatre at the mall.

Once they got something new that I like, I'll get it. I'm basically my local store's best customer (I'm there at least twice a month browsing), so they know me there. They recognize me at the Tampa store too but I don't go to that one as much.

LOL @ aimster. That's the way I am at my BAB! I'm there almost every other or every Friday and they all know me!

That is very nice of them to do! I will have to remember that just in case my Duffy ever gets less fluffy.
