Disneystore.com now limiting pins!!!!

Hooray! As of today Disneystore.com is limiting how many pins a person can buy. Just last week a series sold out in an instant because ebay sellers were buying dozens. SO now for hot pins you have to call into their 1-800 number to order. This will be this way for a few weeks until they get the limits set up for the website. It does mean getting up at 5am, but at least the scalpers won't be able to mess us up like last week. This is the message on the site.

In response to our loyal Guests' requests, this item is available for purchase ONLY through phone orders (1-800-328-0368) beginning this morning at 8 AM Eastern time. Each Guest will be limited to ordering a maximum of 3 of this item until tomorrow. Any remaining pins will be available for online purchase tomorrow.

Well it was an interesting experience. When I called in , right at 8am (EST) the lines were backed up. I waited 15 minutes. They played 2 songs over and over again. I am hopeful that I got the pins I wanted, but will know more later.

Interesting. I feel bad for the people whocan't call in then (due to work, etc.) Though waiting on the phone 15 mins would get me dangerously close to having to leave for work. Good idea on the whole though.

What series sold out that quickly?

There was an LE100 Halloween set and the other was a LE250 Tinker Bell as the Evil Queen from Snow White.

That's awesome, MB. I probably won't get up at 5 a.m. Pacific time to call, but, I am so tired of the Ebay sellers making big dough on these pins! Way to go Disney!

It was pretty bad today too. Another major popular release. The pins should have been available 8am east coast time for phone orders only. I stay up as I am a night owl and it is easier for me. Well the pins became available online and I was able to order them hours beforehand. At 8am east coast I called to see if the online sale would be honored. They were not sure, so I put a phone order in too. By then one of the pins I wanted had sold out, so my best hope was that they would honor the online sale.

Now many hours later it looks like they are going to honor the sale. This is obviously really messed up. I am getting what I wanted, but it was so stressful. Luckilly this is the last thing I want for awhile. As for the phone order, if I get it I will sell the pins at cost. That is fair.

The Disney castmembers were terrific. I really appreciate them. It had to be another nightmare for them today. Also they had more than 2 songs for hold music. Hooray!
