Anyone else going to brave the insanity to try for a wristband tomorrow morning?

Re: Wristband Madness!!!
Are you going to get the Haunted Mansion one? The one with the faces?
Well I dont live in the area either. My father works down there and were thinking of moving down there. But until then.. nope! But I am going to DLR on the 22nd and 23. I think the 20th and 21 too.

Re: Wristband Madness!!!
I was in line for the IASW one back a few months. It was my first wrist band experience and getting the band was no big deal, but, the wait in line took forever. We were underground in the old Rocket Rods line. They only let 2 people at a time go in the store. You could get 2 pins, which if you are going to stand there for 2 hours, or however long, you might as well get 2 and sell one! I did!

Re: Wristband Madness!!!
I've only been at the park once on a day they did the wrist band thing. I never bothered to get one, and after the event was over I still managed to get the pins I wanted. I was with DOOMBGI and he said that a lot of times they have plenty left over from the main event. Why fight the crowds and the hassle when I can get the pins anyway.

Re: Wristband Madness!!!
I've done it a few times. No big deal, just a bit of a wait.Good morning, son
In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
It was pain
Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

Re: Wristband Madness!!!
Yes it was crazy. There were three lines that were walked slowly to the same place, but then all hell broke loose for about 30 seconds when they got to where the line formed. Luckily I drove in, parked, and was already in the first 20 people before this happened! I have been to all but one of the POH releases this year. This was the craziest one (and somehow I ended up the closest to the front of the line I had ever been).
On a side note - Disney lowered the prices again (this one was only 11.95). That is a net $3 decrease from the beginning of the year. I find that strange as they could have charged twice that for this one and still sold them all today. I know in general they are not selling out the LE pins very fast, so the general price decrease makes sense. I'm not complaining or anything. Just saying...

Re: Wristband Madness!!!
I made it to the front of the line also. I heard people started caming out around 11pm the night before. People were let in starting at 5:45am. There was a line that was formed outside DTD by people too, but they were not let in till just after the first few cars were allowed in. For those that showed up early with their cars Anaheim PD and Disney made them keep moving till just before 5:45 (which is when I showed up). By auctually showing up when Disney said to I ended up being about the 4th car in. After my family and I got our wristbands we had breakfast and went on a few rides. Somewhere around 10:45 we went to get the pins and were in and out in less then 10 minutes.

Re: Wristband Madness!!!
Wow. Sounds insane! I was there for the POH Alice wristbands and that was pretty crazy crowd wise too, so I can only imagine what this one was like given how intense Mansion fans are.
It is nice to hear that Disney is trying to keep the start time as close to 5:45 as possible. Otherwise, it would just keep getting more and more ridiculous. Who knows how early the lines would start forming eventually...sigpic

Re: Wristband Madness!!!
This was by far the most frustrating morning to get wristbands ever. I stayed over in the hotels the night before. My line at the DL hotel Mickey hat had about 75 people waiting. It was about 5:50 and we could see the DTD cars being let in and could see the other line moving towards "the spot". It was our line who caused the "madness" because our security personnel were not letting us move until they got the word to move, despite the other line's advances.
Finally someone said, "There are more of us, than there are of them. Move!" and move we did. As the two lines merged, madness ensued and people shoved to get a spot. Security was overwhelmed as was event services.
There were actually two more lines, one at GCH and one at Harbor Pointe that were put at the end of the line because security would not let them through DTD at 5:45. This is complete BS that Disney cannot/will not communicate with each other. These people did not get the pins and my heart goes out to them because they followed what Disney told them and they got screwed!
Disney has NO excuse on any of this morning. They have been doing this for far too long to not expect something like this to happen. BY having a stated time, it creates an unnecessary frenzy at one time. I guess my point is, let people line up at whatever time suits them. Disney is trying to control people too much and it bites them in the face every time, or should I say every month since they instituted the 6am line-up(and actually enforced it). Let the crazies(I'm one of them) to line up the night before so that the blunt of the blame for not getting a pin falls on the person and not Disney. People will do whatever they want to in obtaining a pin and it is a choice to line up hours before. (Kind of like concert tickets) Spreading the fairness of getting a pin does not suit anyone, except Disney. It only infuriates pin traders!
