  • Can someoneplease help me figure out a price for my collection?

I stopped collecting pins several years ago, but I find that I'm still sitting on over 200 pins ( mostly NBC). Can someone please help me figure out what my collection is worth? I'm going to be selling it, but I need to figure out a fair price for it. My pins are listed on pinpics under the handle fenrus. Thanks.

    Hi Oogie,

Thanks for getting those up on pinpics. It helps a lot. I will have a few of my pin buddies take a look. There have been a lot of people unloading collections lately, including nightmare. One thing you may want to do is look at finished auctions on ebay to see what the pins have been ending at lately and take an average. But I do know several people who might be interested. I will get back to you in the next couple days.

Mellon - Thanks. Sorry it took me so long to post it (after me telling you about a year ago that I'd get them posted). My brother had them in his attic and couldn't find them until he had his roof replaced last week. I also realized that I didn't post that I've got the Jack and Sally puzzle pins still in thier original cases.

After looking at the cost of the pins on EBay and the cost of the LE leather pin cases, I'm thinking about $2,000 - $2,500 for the whole set (a little over $10 a pin).

on ebay roughly 9.99 is the going rate. I sell on there too. Alittle over 10.00 is very fair. You did your homr work well. With delivery conformation you can send roughly 5 pins for 2.51 if that helps you remember rates are going up at the post office in a day or two.

Thanks for everyone's help. I'm going to list them all for $2,000 on E-Bay and Craigslist.

Remember.. the larger the lot.. the steeper the discount people expect.

You can only realize the 'per item pricing' when you take the time to sell them in very small lots.

Well Craigslist was a bust. I got better luck on EBay but since I don't want to ship them, it's going to hurt me. Out of 86 views, only about 4 people responded to me with questions. I'll try again in a few weeks to see if I have better luck. Thanks again for everyones help.

I was going to suggest selling them in small lots or even one at a time in order to make the maximum amount of money... people will pay full price or higher for that one pin that they've been searching for or that is no longer released.
In a big lot, the gems of your collection will be lost and undervalued. Only sell in lots when you've got some that you think won't sell!
