I just want to purchase 20 or so random common pins for trading... any help?

We are going down to Disneyland on very short notice and my girls love pin trading but we currently have none.

Yes, I know we can buy the starter packs, but we are not serious collectors by any means.

Does anyone know if or where I could buy some cheap, random pins just for trades and what price would 25 or so cost?

Like meet at the crosswalk or something?

If you have the time you can go to ebay. People are selling 25 pins sets for 99 cents, free shipping. You can have them shipped to your hotel to give yourself more buffer for them to arrive.

Would add that the prices end up being about $15 for 25 pins

Just be aware that those sellers on eBay who have huge lots for sale cheap... are most likely selling "scrapper" pins... counterfeit pins that are not authorized by Disney. Sometimes its hard to tell them apart from the real ones, and sometimes they are obvious. Most of the time CM's won't say anything if its a child trading with them if they know its a scrapper, but you can't always count on that.

Even if you "met someone on the corner" you run the risk of getting ripped off by someone with bags full of scrapper pins.

maybe you could try the Character Warehouse when you get here? It's in Fullerton, just down on Harbor Boulevard from the parks. They usually have at least some less expensive rack pins.

Almost all the Ebay sellers offering lots of 25+ pins have received negative feedback for selling scrapper pins. They get away with it largely because neither their buyers or CMs can tell the difference. Then the sellers turn around and claim their pins can't be fakes because of all the positive feedback they've received and how CMs have traded these pins in the past.

You wouldn't try justifying the use of counterfeit money by citing how you've gotten away with it in the past, would you? Don't buy from them. Look for the honest sellers who sell small groups for $1/pin or more. They may not be 50 cents each, but they're still a huge bargain over the cheapest rack pin.
