  • Disneyland Resort - 52nd Anniversary Pin

With how long the 50th lasted, it is hard to believe that 52 years have passed by. In celebration of the event DLR will have this pin out to commemorate the day!

    Release Date: 06/15/2007
    Edition Size: 1000

    Mickey looks.... interesting...
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

Uh, did they forget to color his clothing, shoes
      and the flag he's holding???????

and WHY is he holding his fist in the air????????
he's not holding a baton or anything in that
      raised fisted hand.

I suggest that we all dress in white that day
with our fists in the air!!!!!! hahahahahaha!

This has to be the most bizzare B-Day pin DL has had!
Critter Country's a mess ev'r since the Country Bears were kicked out. Ya can't cover pooh with honey and 'spect people ta like it.

We'll get it just because we've gotten all the anniversary pins, but when I first saw it, I thought Mickey was in a sleeping jumper...

Naw, it's just a leisure suit - mickey's stylist is a little behind on the times.

This is by far the ugliest anniversary pin ever to be released! The last two pins were awesome but this one is just horrible. I have even started another thread on a differnt site about the state of this pin and it seems everyone has the same consensus on the quality and design. And to top it off it is being released an entire month before the park is 52. I really hope there is another one that is released closer to the date and is a lot better looking.
Tonight is PTN so I will be asking Timm(director of Pin Trading at DLR) why it is such a bad design and why they aren't releasing it July 15, which is a Sunday and usual release date of the anniversary pin from years past.(except for 50th)

I do agree that this is one of the ugliest designs I've seen as well. Hopefully you'll get some answers for us on that one!

I thought the same thing but I like it. Anything that includes Mickey is OK by me.

I was just thinking the same thing Jen. They must have been in a hurry when they made that thing.

Actually, 2005 was the only year that I recall in recent years that the anniversary pin was released on or near the actual anniversary date. I remember it being released at least a few weeks in advance other years.

Last year the 51st was released the 16th of July, so tha wasn't bad, but i think this pin should always be released on the 17th and not sooner.

I got very few answers from Timm(the director of pin trading). I could tell he was upset that so many pin traders were overly disappointed with the pin. He was even saying he has been reading the posts on different sites about the pin and has forwarded them to the proper people for their consideration on the matter. He tried to have the release changed but they(whoever "they" may be) would not let him change release. He is also disappointed in the product design but he was overruled in the release of it. Hopefully they will learn from the mistake on this thing(which I will not buy, out of spite, because I HATE the thing.) It was on display last Friday and I must say it is not one bit better in person.

The pin shop in DTD still had plenty of these LE pins this morning.

For some reason I think they'll have quite a few left for the rest of the week ...
