  • [Question] Alcohol On DCL Ships

I was wondering what's the legal drinking age onboard the Disney Ships? I lived in the US for 6 months and alcohol was not allowed under the age of 21.

Since the Disney Ships are operated under the Bahamian Flagg, I wanted to know what law applies on the ships? US law or Bahamas law?

According to this site the legal age in the Bahamas is 18, like in Europe.

I'm asking, because friends of my family want to do a cruise in the Caribbean and since the Disney Dream was built in Germany, DCL gained some attention over here. Now they are considering DCL besides other cruise companies as well. They have children under 21 but over 18 and it would be nice to enjoy a glass of wine for dinner.

    Thanks for your help!

When in international waters, some cruise lines (such as NCL) allow guests 18+ to drink alcohol while accompanied by an adult however the Disney Cruise Line observes U.S. alcohol laws regardless of its registry in the Bahamas.http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/faqs/onboard-dining/alcohol-policy/
