  • [Idea] Aulani construction

hi Disney members. Guess what. Aulani will be under construction starting in September 2012 til 2013. Guess what we booked 7 months ago and bought airfare and rent a car. So I call member services and all that can be done. Is 2 days credit in vacation points. I suggested that a nice dinner or show at paradise cove might make up for no starlit Huli and noise at 7:00 am but no supposedly it can't be done......what? So Patrick continued to explain that the construction would inconvenience someone so we were just the unlucky ones..... What? I'm sure Disney could have informed members before they booked but waited so no one could cancell ( without penalties) nice going board of directors. I also read yelp and 80 weddings were booked for September ! No wedding garden. Is anyone else having any luck figuring out what to do?

    Re: Aulani construction

I can tell you for a fact that although the old wedding garden is being closed in October, the new site is just as good or even better. Construction was not confirmed until late July, just after the Board of Directors held their meeting there. People with wedings have nothing to worry about.
