  • Halloween 2005

This year the pumpkin-men story continues, but now the orange invasion will meet power of resistance: the Pink Witches lead by Gruzella the Witch, who'll try to thwart pumpkin-mens work.

Take a look, although this site is in French only. :ap:

Thanks for the links! I'm so excited. We'll be there from 23-26 October. I wish it could have worked out for us to be there on 30 or 31 October for the Halloween Parties, but it will be wonderful no matter what!

Cool! Are there any signs of the new pink decorations for the Witches?

                  Thanks for the pix.
I hope they increase the presence of the Witches and really play up the "choose your side" angle this Halloween. It could be great fun.

Me so jealous... how come they get to have more fun in Paris than we do at the US parks.

As I understand it, (and I can't remember where I read/heard it, so I might be wrong),
the majority of Frontier/Halloweenland will belong to the Pink Witches, whilst Main St/Orange County will be the Pumpkin Men's domain. You can get your make-up/hair etc decorated by either side and expect to get hassled if you wander into "enemy" territory!
I saw half a dozen witches in Frontierland last year and upping their visibility is a great idea. I hope it's as much fun as it sounds!

Re-quote, why do they (at DLP and TDL) get to have more fun? Because they don't want to make this a popular daily event in the US. If you want Halloween at WDW, you have to pay a hard ticket to the Halloween Party. In other words...they are capitalizing on this instead of making it a part of the daily experience.

One thing about DLP's Halloween however... this is a "Disney" park. They should try to be a bit more "Disneyish" in the way they handle this event. While I know the european audience has a different approach to Halloween..coming up with stories and characters that are totally unrelated to Disney in regards to halloween at the park, seems a bit odd to me. Of course, I do understand their approach is one of .."macabre and suspense". But I still much prefer the happy-go-lucky cuteness of TDL's halloween as it showcases Disney, and not a generic theme to it.

I did like the DLP Villains Parade last year though... and I hope the Main Street arches are not out this year. They de-beautify the park.

It all seems like far too much detracting from the park's themes and all. I mean WDW's X-Mas and July 4th decorations are subtle and they fit. This just seems garish.
