  • Deck the halls with boughs of ugly

Complaints were filed, jaws dropped, angry emails were sent.

Yes, Halloween 2005 has become quite the controversy already. Behold what Disneyland Paris has cooked up in its cauldron:

I'm sure the ghosts that haunt the place are those of good taste.

Can we not bring TDR's marvel into every single DLP thread? I think we all know how great it is by now.

Though mercy is perhaps not what DLP deserves at this point.

Yes well obviously TDL's Halloween is a tad better... You won't hear me denying that.

And as for the rest of the decorations being okay, well, not by me. The pumpkins, the cauldron and the scarecrows I can live with, but the papier mâché horror is horrific in all the wrong ways. Or it's probably fibreglass these witches are made of, but it looks like something made by either a group of kindergarteners or local parade builders.

Sorry, but I'm sticking with "where taste goes to die".

Well... I am hoping to make it out to DLP around Oct 14th and see for myself. Personally, I think Main Street looks nice this year. Will you be there to join me??

ORWEN: You know, ducklings, this really burns me up! With all the out of work witches--within the Disney family of characters--

                          ORGOCH: --like us--

ORWEN: --you'd think that management would at LEAST have the good sense to use cut out likenesses of some bonafide Disney witches!

ORDDU: I agree. I mean--aside from the obvious--there is also Mad Madame Mim, the wicked hag from Snow White and Witch Hazel. They, along with us, would be more than happy to pose for a flat painting that would, then, be used to help decorate the Disney theme parks for Halloween. (sigh.) One really has to question the intelligence of Disney management world-wide...
