News France will reduce restaurant sales tax

Starting tomorrow 1st of July, France is reducing restaurant sales tax from 19.6% to 5.5%. Restaurants are committed to reduce their prices.

Anyone visiting DLP soon please report how much it has influenced prices at DLP, thank you.

Cutting taxes in a global recession...imagine that...

Granted we don't have a 19.6% restaurant sales tax to cut in this country, but it is quite a concept. My state has raised sales tax on everything to 9.25%, and voted to jump that to 9.75% last November.

Ok Disneyland Paris wont reduce the sale taxes on prices . Because they already had advantages on taxes on their food sale . On the receipt it says take away then the tax was different . Kinda cheating the taxes already .

I hope I'm getting this wrong...
Sales tax is the tax you pay on every product you buy, or what?
Because, if I'm not wrong, in France it's about 20%... As it is in most of Europe.
You shouldn't be so sad with a 0,50% increase, when all you pay is less than 10%.
I'd say: raise it some more!

About the tax cutting at restaurants. This only concerns REAL restaurants, not fast food. They already had the tax cut.

That's nothing really, in the UK our sales tax was 17.5% but they reduced it to 15% a little while ago. Then again, we get much more for our tax money than the US.
Let's put the Walt back in Disney!
