  • News Disneytheque reveals plans for 2010-2014 period?

According Disneytheque DLP will start a new period of investments. Just a it was around the 15 anniversary. This time there will be 2 new rides and 1 ride is up for an upgrade.

    Disneland Park
    - An upgrade for Toad Hall
    - The removal of Festival stage
    - The Little Mermaid (2014; preparations start in 2012)
    - Star Tours 2.0 (2013?)

    - Not in the article, but elsewere on the website; The renovation of Adventureland in 2010 (Robinsons Tree House, Captain Hook's Ship and the bridges).

    Walt Disney Studios Park
    - Ratatouille (2012; preperations start in 2010)

    Disney Village
    - World of Disney (corner of the cinema)
    - Convention centre (between World of Disney and Da Vinci Parking)
    - New stores replacing current stores:
    *Change desk - KFC
*Disney Store - Virging Megastore (seems unlikely to me)
    *Disney Gallery (Rehab/renovations)
*Disney Fashion, World of toys - Pixar, Lego and Disney Green Range
    *Hurricanes - Tony's Restaurant

    Disney Hotels
    - New hotel and convent centre (style American twenties?)
Between Newport Bay Club and Da Vinci Parking.

I find this a little suspect given that Virgin Megastores no longer exist really. But some of these are likely to come true.

None of them have me really excited as it is pretty much all marketing and toon stuff, but c'est le vie. Rat could be interesting I suppose.

I will forget every expecting a masculine attraction at the resort again, those days are over it seems (thank goodness we finally got ToT).
Let's put the Walt back in Disney!

I'm still dubious as to where the information has come from, the website claims to have got the info from "sources". Sounds a bit vague to me... Having said that I'd be very excited if these rumours are true!

(p.s. It looks like we're never going to get Splash Mountain or Indy )

Really? They expand on their best land (IMO)? Why not plus a whole other area that needs it (Discoveryland or Frontierland)? Didn't their FLand just get a major upgrade with Casey + SBL?

        one hundred and one

          Those were build years ago.

Seems Virgin Megastores in France is operated by Butler Capital Partners, and is doing well. Virgin is closing shops in several parts in the world, but is also opening shops in "new" regions (Franchise?). So, it seems it can is possible. I think it would be a good addition, as there aren't many places in DLP where you can buy CD's/DVD's/Blu Rays/Games (from the Disney-brand).

^^^ Kind of like Tower Records in Japan which is still operating.

I've read a lot of plans of possible additions for Disneyland Paris over the years and most appear to have been false, I'm not sure why we should treat this any differently.

The Convention Centre is almost certain to happen as I'm sure Ratatouille everything else should be treated as speculation until we hear more !

Toad Hall needs to bring back the devils! It's not scary anymore. I'd also like to see the Haunted Mansion bring back the scary version from time-to-time.

Toad Hall at Disneyland Paris is not a dark ride like in Disneyland California, and instead is a counter service Restaurant.

The plans seem quite true to me.

Dee Jay from Disneytheque stated the KFC counter will not be replacing the Change Desk. Instead it will be above the Change Desk.

The Convention centre will be more south. More around the new hotel.

But as with all... DLP will reveal its plans sometime of no time as usual. So we will just wait and see. I think Disneytheque is one of the more reliable sources on the internet.

                    exciting:
                    star tours
                    LM
                    Rat
                    World of Disney

                    not exciting:
new hotel (just referb the existing hotels, they are in danger of becoming dissapointing. explorers is actually nicer than sequoia for example, in terms of comfort and amenities.)

I thought they already started to renovate rooms in the existing hotels.

I can smell that TWDC and other investors have to inject EDL s.c.a. with some cash.. Shareholders, watch out for your pockets.

It's ok Zarniwoop. I stuck by DLP for 17 years and have lost loads of money, it was always an investment of love. I have now sold my shares as I have lost faith in DLP. Anyone want to buy my 2 bedroom villa in Bailly Romainvilliers?
