  • [Rumor] Sequoia Lodge refurbishment

Kristof over on http://www.photosmagiques.com has posted a very interesting rumour. Apparently Sequoia Lodge may soon be getting a full refurbishment.

Today on Disney's Sequoia Lodge's birthday (opened officially on 27 May 1992) I can share an interesting "rumour".

A complete refurbishment from top to bottom appears to be in the works. The rumour says basically everything will be ripped out and replaced. And more interestingly, a plan exists that will turn Disney's Sequoia Lodge in Europe's first full ecological hotel.

I'm more interested to see how DLP manages to refurbish the entire hotel while keeping it opened. Since DLP will never fully close the Hotel down.

Sounds like great news, coupled with some of the other recent refurbs and announcements, seems like they really might be gearing up for the 20th year.

I am sure the refurbishment if it was to go ahead will be annouced in advance with plenty of warning.

I will say that I looked to book for October and found that the discount levels were much lower for SL than other hotels. Perhaps because of reduced occupancy?
