  • [Question] Character MEET & GREET

I am visiting the park on my first visit. I love meeting characters. Especially the rare ones... In Tokyo I looked for Bernard & Bianca from the rescuers and never found them

So I am hoping someone has knowledge about where I can find great opportunities to meet characters in September. Anybody?? Thank you.

In Fantasyland, two meet'n'greets opened in 2011 et 2012 : Princess Pavilion and Meet Mickey Mouse. One can meet Santa Claus in Frontierland during the Christmas Season. For the moment, Rapunzel has her own meet'n'greet because she's very popular. There aren't rare characters in those meet'n'greets.

There are also other places to meet characters (Town Square, Front Lot, Toon Plaza, In front of the Blue Lagoon Restaurant, etc).

All the meet'n'greets are mentioned on the schedule available on DLP's official website.

Character meals are my preferred place to M&G. Cafe Mickey in Disney Village is my favourite. Here you can expect to meet Mickey and friends, the Robin Hood characters, Pinocchio, Geppetto, Tigger and (on one occassion) we met Baloo there.

Also consider visiting the hotel foyers even if you are not staying in them. The rarely-seen Launchpad McQuack (of DuckTales fame) is sometimes spotted in the Hotel New York. Robin Hood and Wendell the Country Bear are often seen in the Sequoia Lodge.

Have a good trip and happy hunting!

Yeah on the lobbys of the hotels (you don't have to be a hotel guest) there is usually a character for pics. I'm not sure if they write WHO will be there at what time.

The characters pop out from nowhere. Cinderella came from a building close to Peter Pan. She was just suddenly there. Within seconds there were lots of kids so we decided to go away as we didn't want to push them away and more were comming.

In tomorrowland we had the two chips, goofy and mickey suddenly appearing from a building.

In the Disney Studios just as we entered Winnie Poh came and greeted us.

They don't walk around though. They just appear at one spot and then you have to find them.

Each hotel has a board in the lobby that is updated daily. It features pictures of the various characters who will be there that day and the times that they will appear. There are usually 3 or 4 characters on a rota throughout the day on this basis and it is definately worth checking the boards every morning if character hunting is high on your to-do list. Also the characters tend to be related to the theme of the hotel which means if you want a photo of Goofy as a cowboy go to the Cheyanne and if you want Ranger Mickey, the Sequia is your best bet.

The hotels also have random appearances of characters in the bar areas and foyer. This is usually at the busy times so they may appear to keep the kids occupied while the check-in queues are at their longest or when the parks have closed and the bars are busier.
