  • [Question] Which rides do you think should stay?

    Hey guys!

I am beginning to do some armchair imagineering of my own for the Walt Disney Studios and how to transform it into a great park. I was just wondering which rides and attractions do you think deserve to stay and which ones you think should be ripped out to make way for bigger and better things.

    I was thinking:

    KEEP:
    Ratatouille Ride
    Crush's Coaster
    Rock n Roller Coaster

RIDES I WANT TO KEEP BUT THEY TAKE UP SPACE AND ARE LOCATED IN WEIRD PLACES:
    Toy Story Playland
    Tower of Terror
    Lights, Motors Action

    ATTRACTIONS THAT CAN BE REMOVED/RELOCATED/REPLACED/REDONE:
    CineMagique
    Playhouse Disney
    Stitch Live
    Armageddon
    Cars
    Aladdin
    Animagique
    Art of Animation

Does anyone eels agree that they built the Tower of Terror in the worst part of the park?

    KEEP:

Ratatouille - Although it isn't built yet, it looks very promising. I can't wait to experience that ride. And it will be something unique to DLRP.

Tower of Terror - I like the location of the tower. It's the focal point and it's the only thing the makes WDSP interesting from the outside.

CineMagique - In my opinion that's one of the best Disney attractions. I love it and it has to stay.

Crush's Coaster - It's definitely not the best Disney coaster, but it's a lot of fun.

Rock'n'Roller Coaster - When all effects and the music are working fine, it's a great ride.

Cars - It's the perfect ride for kids, and I admit, I enjoyed it as well.

RIDES I WANT TO KEEP BUT THEY TAKE UP SPACE AND ARE LOCATED IN WEIRD PLACES:

Lights, Motors Action - It's always a must see for me, but they should get rid of Lightning McQueen

    ATTRACTIONS THAT CAN BE REMOVED/RELOCATED/REPLACED/REDONE:

Playhouse Disney - Not interested in that attraction.

Stitch Live - Was okay the first time, but I wouldn't mind if it will be removed. However it's very popular with kids and Disney parks should be for everyone.

    Aladdin - See Stitch Live!

Animagique - I loved the show, but I wouldn't mind something new.

Toy Story Playland - It shouldn't have been built in the first place.

Armageddon - I liked that attraction too, but only without the too long pre show. However it's time for something new.

I agree with you sooo much Timmy. The Imagineers really missed the ball on this one and clearly did not even plan for a proper expansion. It is really a shame because all Disney parks should be masterpieces but I do not see how this one can do it.

The park really needs a makeover like DCA got but I find it hard to do considering the location of TOT and Toy Story Playland. It really makes for an awkward park. I doubt they would remove these brand new, expensive areas. Also what is the theme of the park nowadays since it is not really a movie studio?

If they were required to build a park there they should have built something small and with detail rather than what they built. Disney's Hollywood Studios opened with only one ride, three shows, and the backlot tour but all of those things were full of detail and allowed for expansion beyond these areas. In order to be a successful park there needs to be a solid foundation, which unfortunately WDS does not have.

DCA even had a pretty alright foundation with areas like Grizzly, Hollywood Blvd, and parts of Paradise Pier. They were able to add onto these areas to make the park even better. At WDS there is nothing really to work with.

Do you want to know what's going to happen?

          - All the Backlot attractions will be rethemed after the Marvel Universe. Armageddon, Rock'n'Roller Coaster and Moteurs Actions will be rethemed.

          - No Toon Studios ride (Toy Story Playland included) will disappear. Some ride will maybe be rethemed. Les Tapis Volants - Flying Carpets over Agrabah will maybe be relocated in Adventureland (it's not a joke). Animagique and Art of Disney Animation will maybe be replaced by something else. Toon Studios is rumored to become Pixar Studio.

          - Studio Tram Tour is going to have a makeover.

-> To conclude : No ride will disappear (except those which will be replaced or rethemed).

Definitely the best idea, unfortunately that's not going to happen.

Are these the plans for the 2014 - 2018 makeover? Than there's not going to happen a lot. Re-theming doesn't mean new rides. And what about the 50s Hollywood makeover of Production Courtyard to blend in better with ToT?

The Flying carpets would only fit into the Adventureland Bazar Area and as far as I know there's not a lot of space available. At the MK it feels too cramped.

Although I'm not convinced by that rumours, I think a Pixar Studios makeover would be the best idea for Toon Studios, but it has to be done like at WDW where WDI built a copy of the Pixar Studios in Emeryville.

                Hollywoodland:
This land will go from the entrance to TOT than the whole left side to RNRC and from Motors Action back behind TOT to the Walt and Micky Statue.
PixarWorld: it will get the whole right side like it is at the moment.
Marvel Universe: This new and bigest land will have the wole back of the park. This land also will get split into different locations.

Those are the different Lands inside the Park. I think 3 Lands are enough with Marvel and Pixar as the biggest ones, here they can put in any movie related attractions, shops, restaurants and entertainment. It also gives now the opportunity to give everything a realy immersive theming.
Now we beginn with Hollywoodland to make this possible, these stuff needs to go at first to make room.!
Buildings on Frontlot, Studio 1, Cinemagique, Disney Channel Building with both Attractions, Armageddon, Restaurants opposite Armageddon, the dinning trailer near Moteurs, Studio Tram tour and the right facades of Hollywood blvd. With all the new space the new can come.!

Hollywoodland:Buena Vista Street. Hollywood of 1920-1930 when Walt first arrived in Los Angeles. Along the street you have Shops, Restaurants and the Red Car Trolley. The Left side of the Street will have: Lockers & Bathrooms Red Car Trolley Stop, Mortimers Market, Julius Katz shoe and watch repair & julius katz and sons, Big Top Toys, Clarabelles Ice Cream and Fiddler, Fifer and Practical cafe and the Elysian Arcade. The right side of the street will have: Oswalds gas & Oil, Los Feliz, Five and Dime, Elias & Co., Kingswell Camera Shop, Atwater ink and Paint, Trolley Treats. At the end of the Street is the Buena Vista Circle with a wonderfull Fountain. Also the HTH sits at the end of the Street near the Circle overlooking the Buildings of Buena Vista Street. If you walk ahead to your left side you will come to the second Part.
Disney Bros. Studios. The former Cinemagique and Disney Channel Building Area turns into a recreation of Walts Hyperion Studios. here you will have a beautifull little garden, with a little gift shop for special Black & White Fab. 5 souvenirs. Inside the Studio Building is The Art of Disney Animation, Stitch Live and of cours the new Attraction
Animania: This attraction is a mix out of Roger Rabbits Cartoon Spin meets Toystory Mania. A clasic Disney Dark ride with AAs, Blacklight and of cours 3D screens and interaktive games. Here you go on a journey with Mickey and Oswald to turn the World of Black & White into Color. Take a seat at you vehicle, take the brush and paint the background in color while you spinn through the first section. the second section will have kind of midway games, here you fight against the villain who stole the color (epic mickey) and the third section is a blacklight, colorful happy final adventure.
At the outside of the Studios is the second stop for the Red Car Trolley. Now you shoul walk ahead to the next Part.
Sunset blvd. / Theatre District: Now you enter Backlot, sorry former Backlot. On the left side you will see Carthey Circle Theatre Inside Carthey you will have a beautiful Restaurant at the upper floors and Cinemagique as the Attraction below the restaurant. Shortly after the Carthey Circle Theatre we have some Sunset Blvd. Buildings with a shop inside. Opposite RNRC is the entrance to Playhouse Disney the next relocated attraction. On the former Armagedoon attraction is now the Hyperion Theatre. here you can watch a Broadway style show called
The RNRC facade will tun into the ABC radio station from the 1940s (or what time ever) and the Moteurs facade will change into a 1940s gas station like the one you see at the end of Studio 1 wich is a shop.! Moteurs will get an retheme and a new story. (lets say The Godfather or Scarface) fits with the time and you can do a great stunt show out of it. Also the third stop for the Red Car Trolley is in this area from here it goes back to Buena Vista Street. If you walk past that all you com to tha last part.
Hollywood blvd. This street begins at the end of Moteurs and ends at the Buena Vista Circle. Here you have some more Buildings with shops and food locations along the HTH side. Opposide where the Tram route is now begins the Hollywood Garden (another name is better i think) here you can watch the new nighttime show Disney Cinema Spectacular a mix out of "Dreams, Fantasmic, World of Color only with Pixar, Marvel and Disney Pictures movies.
Now you walk back to the Buena Vista Circle and the tour of Hollywoodland ends.
                PixarWorld:

I know i should do a map, to make it more easier to understand the whole thing, because my english is not the best, but for now i will go ahead with the 3rd Land...
You can of curse walk around the lake. Now we ended our PixarWorld tour near the Lake on the new Brave area. from this point on you can go to the next Land.

Marvel Universe. This will be the biggest land of all, you can enter the land from 2 sides (Sunset blvd. / Hollywood blvd. and PixarWorld / Brave area) coming from the last one you enter the world of Adventures. Here you can visit Asgard with Attractions based on Thor and Loki. You can visit the Jungle of Black Panther with a new incredible Dark ride. Some shops and restaurants are themed to the specific Movie, and also some room will be available for future expansion.
The next stop will be the world of Galaxy. Here you can take Rides on different attractions visit shops or restaurants. Based on guardians of the Galaxy, the Inhumans ect. Between Adventure and Galaxy will be space for expansion and also from Galaxy to the last one will have some future expansion land left.
The Last land of Marvel universe is Stark Expo. This will be the Tomorowland of the Studios. First of all we have the Big Globe sitting on an little Island at the lake, Around the globe you see some track for an suspended Peoplemover traveling through the Stark Expo. The Expo itself will have also different Areas. New Technologie (attractions, shops restaurants based on Iron Man), Science (Super human serum stuff, so based on Captain America, Hulk , Ant Man ect.) and a S.H.I.E.L.D area for the Avengers, Heroes for hire and so on.

No I try to avoid the other DLP forums. Too many persons that get payed by Disney that post things in them.

I got confused and thought these were real plans WDS.

I didn't know that this plan is from you, but it sounds really good. I thought you've got the ideas from the French Disney Board, which is usually very trustful when it comes to news and rumours about DLP.

I am cute, my mother already told me twice.

I just ment that in some of the european forums certain views are not welcomed by the people that run the forums and or some others that are part of it. It has to do with getting benefits from Disney when they launch a new ride or two... like with Toy Story Playland in WDS

WDS the worst Disneypark ever. Sooo bad there is only slightest hope to ever make it a REAL Disney themepark.

If WDS had 50% of all that has come up here then it would be alot better than now and might actually be recognized by Disney.

TSPL was one of the worst additions of WDSP, especially this ugly green parachute tower. I still don't get how these cheap carnival rides fit into a Studios Park. I don't know why so many on the European board like that land. The fact that for so many DLP can't do wrong and each new addition is great made me cut back my time at that board. However I was not the only one who left.

I know WDSP is bad, but I have to admit that during my last two visits I enjoyed spending some time there.
