  • [Question] What's the deal with the Disneyland Paris Airport?

What were the plans to build the airport? Where exactly was it going to be built? Did the financial issues kill it? Any info would be helpful. Thanks

I have never heard of this.

In WDW there were plans to build an airport and did build an airstrip. But WDW is huge and in DLP there is not enough room. Charles DeGaul the major airport of Paris is close, I'd bet within 10 miles because it was a short ride when I visited.

I never heard of plans for a Disney airport in Europe, and I'm quite in to the history of the European resort. And, as mentioned above, the Charles de Gaulle international airport is very close to the resort so there isn't a reason to built one anyways.

As others have said, I've never heard of any plans for an airport at the Resort. Not to say that it may not have existed in early plans, maybe when they were thinking of the South of France/Spain perhaps?

And that's the thing, that location is not suited for and airport. It couldn't even house one runway. Furthermore the location is inside the Disneyland Paris cirlce, an area that is marked for future expansions of the resort (e.g. sites for new hotels or parks) Besides, Euro Disney S.C.A. has no means of funding an airport. (and due to the close location to Charles de Gaulle International Airport, it wouldn't be worth the investment anyways) The only possibility for some sort of airport to exist at said location is that there was going to be a take off place for helicopters or paragliders. But that's not the case either.

Can you imagine the noise pollution it'd cause in the parks? Surely that's reason enough against it.
