  • [Chat] Walt Disney Studios Renovation

I was on idealbuildout.blogspot.com (which btw, is a great website) and saw that he had posted an article in which he discussed completely renovating WDS, which we all know is a failed park at this point being the least visited Disney park (about 6 million visitors behind DLP). The link is here and I recommend you check it out.

Ideal Buildout: 2nd Gate - Paris

    Now to discuss it...

Just to get this out of the way, the plans call for the park to cover a lot more land, which is available where the plans have called for it. Back to the design and layout, I really do like the idea of completely devoting this park to different movies, as it is Walt Disney Studios. The six proposed lands cover a lot of popular movies, and future popular movies can be easily incorporated, such as Star Wars 7-9, future Pixar films, future Tim Burton films, and any future films that fit in the Ghilbli area. The new design also gives the park a lot more space, making it a very spacious park, and gives it a Fountain Spectacular Nightshow, which would probably be like World of Color or the new show coming to DAK.

What is your thought of the proposed park?

I think alot of us just feel that WDS can't be saved. The park just sucks too much.

OP I don't know if you read on MC before making and account to post.

We have already discussed these things.

Not that it's bad to bring up, but you may want to read over the discussions.

Meg Crofton has been charged to upgrade Disneyland Paris to the American standards, including a complete placemaking of the Walt Disney Studios.

          American standards?

That doesn't impress me much. Tokyo is the gold standard now.

True. The American standards are not anywhere near Japan's. Americas Disneyland feels old and overcrowded.

              I meant visual (architectural) standards.

But... Disneyland Paris has just ruined Walt Disney Imagineering's theming by adding a safety camera that is clearly visible in the Ratatouille area.

So DL is overcrowded and TDL/TDS are not? They are all overcrowded.

                    Re: Walt Disney Studios Renovation

Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySEA were built to handle crowds better. The walkways are much wider making the parks not seme as crowded.

Wow. I just looked at that for two seconds and found a way to make it not obvious, disguise it as one of the lights, look upper left corner of picture, and it blends in. I figured out a problem in two seconds which the WDC has had years to figure out and still has not done it.
