  • IF YOU'VE RIDDEN BOTH, Ratatioulle or Tokyo's Pooh ride?

If you've ridden both (TimmyTimmyTimmy and other jet setting Micechatters we long to emulate),
which attraction did you like better & why:
the Ratatouille ride at the studios park at Disneyland Paris
    ,
    or
    Tokyo Disneyland's Pooh ride.

    Both are trackless,
but which one was bigger, grander, better themed, had better sound/music, had better queue & exit experiences, moved more quickly or smoothly, was longer, and had better vehicles & more surprises?

I haven't been anywhere near DLP since they added Ratatoullie. I am planning to go to DLP 2017. ...and by then the paint and the projections according to DLP standards must have faded
I would also like to know if Pooh beats the rats. All DLP fans have cthe chance to step up now.
But meanwhile you are all invited to check out my travels on https://www.youtube.com/user/TimmyME

I'm surprised that no one has chimed in on this. I know numerous Micechatters have ridden Tokyo Pooh, but maybe fewer have yet experienced Ratatouille, & far fewer have been on both.

I'll look for Youtube videos of the Ratatouille ride.

Heading to DLP at the end of the month. I'll try to give a report after that.

I liked Rattatouile better than the Winne Pooh ride, it has more effects. Why haven't you included Mystic manor in the list of options?

I have not ridden Ratatouille because I am waiting till 2017 when I go to DLRP again. I have to say I liked the videos on youtube. I have ridden Pooh's Hunny hunt twice and I liked it but to be honest I think that it is way overrated. It is really good but there are way better rides in Tokyo and elsewhere in the Disneyverse.

Pooh in Tokyo the vehicles interact with each other and real sets far more often than they do in Ratatouille. Ratatouille is too often in front of media screens. Not that Ratatouille isn't fun and wouldn't be a great ride for any park that it was added to...its just that Pooh is so great that Ratatouille can't compare to Pooh.

Fail on my part. I'm interested to hear how people like that compared to Tokyo Pooh & Ratatouille.

I've ridden all three in the last six months, and i would rank as

                          3) Ratatioulle
                          2) Pooh
                          1) Mystic Manor

Ratatouille was fun, but i was not in any rush to ride it again, the screens made it feel quite less immersive. My favourite parts where when you were going through real sets, with a little screen in it. The full screen rooms were cool, but not convincing (when you can see the floor on the screen and the one your vehicle is on. And they are different... illusion broken)

Pooh is amazing, from start to finish. It makes all the other Pooh rides seem cheap and trashy, it is full immersive, and that Tigger room, blows my mind still after countless rides.

Mystic Manor. Pooh was king, until Mystic Manor came along. This ride is a CLASSIC, and, in my opinion the Modern Dark Ride to beat. Amazing rooms, and effects, physical sets, and great music. I rode this at leat 10+ times in a row with it being a quiet weekday in Jan in Hong Kong. This stomps over the other two for me.

I've also been on all three within the last year and would completely agree with bigglesworth003. The physical effects and sets of Pooh and Mystic Manor are far greater then the 3-D screens in Ratatouille. Pooh is a great ride and the dream sequence I think is the best scene out of all 3 but Mystic Manor just has so many 'wow' factors for me that it takes the cake. My ratings would be.

                              1) Mystic Manor
                              2) Pooh

Thanks! Now I want to go to Tokyo & Hong Kong. (I was at Tokyo Disneyland long ago.)

Sometimes Disneyland fans seem to be overly impressed with an attraction right after it opens (Nemo sub ride at Disneyland), but Mystic Manor seems to be truly impressive. I hope they try to make an even better version of it in Anaheim or Florida. Or better yet, have a unique, trackless dark ride with few video screens, please.

There's one simple effect on Mystic Manor that constantly amazes me. It's in the very first scene and the very last where the box is opened and closed. With the lights on you can't see any scrims, netting, projection surfaces, etc. The lights go down and a split second later light is dancing all around the room in the middle of the sets. They manage to get some scrim or something up and down in a split second and hide it extremely well. Simple effect but amazing!

And jcruise86, it'll be interesting what you think of Tokyo Disneyland when you go back at some point. I've only been the one time but it feels like it's partially frozen in time. Still has that very 1980s look all over the place. I bet it will be very familiar still!

I know this is getting off-track, but I find that visiting different Disney parks, especially ones surrounding castles, messes with my Disney park dreams in a cool way. I'd like to see a 20-30 minute film of Disney parks & attractions that were altered like the under Small World scene in Tomorrowland and (and I do not recommend this movie) about 20 seconds from "Escape From Tomorrow"), specifically where the EPCOT ball rolls and when the Small World dolls become evil.

And now for WAY off track--speaking of distorted realities, the Haunted Mansion movie should take place at Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Disneyland Paris and at Tokyo Disneyland with the ghosts coming alive after the parks close. They could haunt an evil Imagineer who wants to replace their mansions with more Frozen attractions!

Just got back from DLP and agree with what others have said for the most part. There are few parallels beyond the ride vehicles being trackless. The interior queue is immersive, but short, with most of the line outside. The dispatch area is well themed with a unique dispatch/return sequence.

There is a heavy reliance on 3D projections with a few physical effects. For me, the 3D projections lacked the "you-are-there" aspect of Spiderman @ Universal Orlando. Still, it was enjoyable and worth a second ride.

So no one has posted here in 5.5 years, and Hong Kong Disneyland's Mystic Manor has been added to Ratatouille & Tokyo's Pooh.

Robbiem suggested we add Tokyo Disney Sea's Aquatopia when contrasting these trackless attractions. Cool, but
let's just agree that most people wouldn't consider DCA's little, trackless Carsland ride to be the best Disney trackless ride & let's leave that out of the discussion,
unless you feel strongly about it and/or want to show off that you've been to 5 different Disney parks with trackless rides. (Does Shanghai Disneyland have one, BTW? And isn't Rise of the Resistance partly trackless? If so & if you're ridden it, feel free to add that.)

If you've ridden more than one of them, which do you prefer?
