  • For UKers (I know its off topic)

I know its off topic, but this forum has the most UK visitors.

Just wondering if anyone else is going to Disney On Ice at the O2 arena next Friday?

If so, maybe a chance at a MiceChat meetup

I went to Newcastle Arena to see it last Sunday.

It was good but not particularly spectacular. The recreation of some of the Disneyland rides are well done though.

We should one day organise one big meet up event like there often do in the US parks. Prove to them that the UK presence is strong on this board.

By the way StrongStyle I look foward to hearing what you think of the whole Disney on Ice show next Friday.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing just the other day. They seem to have so much fun over in California, I'm beginning to feel left out. Let's start plotting our own meet! If we begin now, we might just have something ready for the beginning of next year (when I hear they're opening a new ride, or something...) Come on, people, we deserve to treat ourselves!

Well first question needs to be asked is who is up for doing this meet up. I think if its a Disneyland Resort Paris meet up it shouldn't just be for anyone from the UK, but Europe too.

You would not catch me watching a Disney on Ice show. I find them so cheesy.

ok, time to start placing bets about how long after TDL installs a permanent ice show into the park, TDLFan is on here raving about it :P

They already have... sorta. Ice skating performers were featured in some of the TDS Christmas shows in the Waterfront Plaza. One of the most popular scenes involved Mickey and Minnie ice skating to "White Xmas".
You should also know that the "Disney on Ice" tours are extremely popular in Japan, so NO, it would not surprise me one bit if TDR installed an ice skating show year round. After all.. we are already getting the cheesy Cirque du Soleil at TDR next year... so why not an ice skating show? Hopefully OLC would artistically improve on the current formula.

You guys could all meet up together in London and take the Eurostar to the Resort together. Plenty of time to get to know eachother

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

That way we could decide if to join them at Disneyland Paris or jump straight back on the train. But it doesn't seem to be much interest here anyway.

OMG!!!! Are you actually dissing TDL getting a Cirque Du Soleil show? When I heard about it I was jumping for joy as I am currently convincing wife into a TDL trip for our 10th anniversary in 2009 and the show will be open by then. A Cirque show is a fantastic attraction for the resort, I've seen around 6 of the Cirque shows (some several times), and La Nouba at WDW is probably the best of all the ones I've seen; I can't wait to see what they come up with for TDL.

btw, probably should point out that I'm only going to Disney on Ice because we have the kid.

I'd certainly be up for a MIceChat meet in the UK, making it a trip to DLP adds both expense and the need to come up with a reason not to bring wife and kids, but I think I could swing it (she has been back to Alabama twice in the last year to see Taylor Hicks concerts).

While I agree a MiceChat trip to DLRP would be great fun, I think you're right that it would be far too complicated and expensive. Something in London sounds mroe reasonable. How about a trip to see Mary Poppins before it ends its run next January? WAGS welcome!

Not sure I could sit through Poppins again, while it was good, it was no Lion King. Now if we were getting Mermaid any time soon that would be a great meet up.
