  • Disneyland Paris Smokefree Except in Designated Areas

Disneyland Paris will be smokefree from this summer season on. Only in the smoking areas it will be allowed to smoke! They will follow the WDW and Anaheim concept of smoking.

What do you think? I think it's great news... it was really one of the major downsides of DLRP.

Let's see how stringently it will be inforced. Certain European nationalities can be very stubborn when it comes to obeying rules.

I think it's great news obviously, but like Nathan, I doubt people will immediately obey the rules.

And some people may not even realize what the rules are exactly. In places like Germany, smoking is still very much a part of everyday life, something people have accepted as being as normal as people drinking coffee or annoying fad-based ring tones, as opposed to something particularly alarming. Or at least it was a few years ago, I'm not sure if things have changed since then. But my point is, those people might still light up out of habit, continuing to pollute queues in utter unawareness.

That's so not going to fly.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

DLRP is going to have to be very strict on this rule. I hope Management will give CastMembers full support here.

I'm all for complete enforcement. I hate it when I have to endure fumes upon fumes of second hand cigarette smoke while waiting in the queues. And I truly feel sorry for the children and infants that have to put up with the smoke too.

C'est la vie, even in France.

I hope it works. However I am cynical. I mean once I was on It's a Small World and some of the kids were actually smoking while on the ride!!! I can't see this taking. But I can only hope.

I don't think it will work. Smoking isn't popular in the US anymore, but it is in many places overseas.

It's a little strange when I think of how most registers in DLP had park logo lighters for sale. Are those going too?

Interesting point - although they also sell swimming costumes and towels. Doesn't mean you can swim in the castle moat though.

I love how we've now established The European to be this chain-smoking, moat-swimming, garden-trampling, boozing, cruising, hedonistic, loud, lurid and surly creature that pees and poos all over the place.

Well, yeah... that's pretty much how I picture them. :P

It's not entirely imagination.. though I've only seen chain-smoking, garden-trampling, irreverence, misbehaved people who pees inside Skull Rock.

Although, as I am sure you realised, my comment about swimming in the moat was refering to the fact that everything bought in DL does not need to be used immediately, you have made a damned good job of summing up at least some of the DLP guests!
