  • [Question] What Do We Do with Autopia?

I just posted in the "Best Queue" thread. Someone brought up the woeful experience of Autopia's line, I got to thinking. The whole ride needs help. The basics are ok; its great to have control on a ride. Let us brainstorm.

I'm sorry NQCJ, but I'm in the corner of just removing it completely. The amount of space that it takes, from what I hear the CMs don't like working it, there are just so many things that would lead me to believe something fun and futuristic would suit that area much better.

I say turn the ride into a remote smoking lot.

Let the smokers drive the cars out to somewhere in back there and puff their brains out. It would alleviate the rank walk to Tomorrowland train depot and perhaps get rid of a few smokers to asphyxiation (or just plain combustion). The fumes from Autopia are pretty bad anyway.
How much do we have to pay to get MiceChat Old?

They need to put something else in that area. That real estate could be put to better uses.

I almost never ride Autopia. The line is always long and slow, and IMO it's just not worth the wait.

I know alot of people really enjoy this ride, but I'm not really one of them.

I just have to say that is hilarious.

On a more serious note. Autopia is right next to the even less interesting Innoventions. Bulldoze it all?????

Innoventions has a sponser so no go. Chevron's deal should be ending soon so now's the time to rent the wrecking ball.

So if Autopia goes, what do we want to see there?

Re: What Do We Do with Autopia?

So I just looked at the ride on Google Earth and see the ridiculous amount of space it uses. There really is the potential for a major attraction here. The area is comparable to the amount of space used by about 80% of the Rivers of America. I knew it was a large space, but I definitely under-estimated. So I agree Ash, something thrilling could definitely be in order.

I like Autotopia, but I have to agree, it does need to go.

And not reformated to Cars, or something to be expected.

Cars is going into DCA, no worries about that.

I think something fast and interactive somehow...I'm very vague right now...

Bulldoze Autopia and put something in that has to do with future transportation in the area. Driving gas-powered vehicles is so yesterland already... And give the riders control over the vehicle's movement, no track please! Volvo Driving School at Legoland is a good example of how Autopia should be with electric minicars and driver autonomy to go where he/she wants.

Bulldozing the gas mini cars and put in electric mini cars is not thrilling to me....no offense. The legoland ride is definitely a kids ride and not a whole family ride as well.

It should not be a carbon burning car ride though, I'll give you that.

Dont forget Autopia sits on top of the Nemo show building. I am not 100% sure, but I think that limits the weight that can be on that land.

For some reason the only ideas I'm getting is to replace it with Test Track

Cammie Dog: 3/27/05-6/28/09 God took you way too soon Protect your dog from heat stroke. It attacks and kills quickly.
