  • [Question] Cost of Downtown Disney Parking?

Does anyone know how much the parking cost at Downtown Disney, after the first free 3 hours? I couldn't find it on Disney's website.

Its $2 for every 20 mins after the first 3 hours or the first 5 hours with validation. So, $6 per hour, up to $36 maximum a day I think.

Drunk DL Tip #1: Downtown Disney offers your first 3 hours of parking free. No matter what you do. If you aren't staying at the park resort and want a break to your non-park hotel, I think it is profitable to buy a drink/meal or for you non-drinkers a souvenir inside Downtown Disney and they will validate your parking for an extra 2 hours (ASK FOR IT!). Now you have 5 hours free parking at Downtown Disney. Something you can take advantage of.

Tip #2: If you decide to do this and decide to contuine your stay in the park, have one or a loved one go to the car and make a U-turn on Disneyland Way and return to the Downtown Disney Parking Area. You will obtain an extra 3 hours (plus 2 hrs with valadation) and keep repeating ‘Tip #1 &2’ as necessary.

Tip #3: When the parks are under crowed or open late, the Downtown Disney parking kiosks will eventually close... leaving you with either less of the 15min parking fee, or most of the time, none at all. This is a gamble, but normally after an hour or so, after everything is closed, you can drive freely from Downtown Disney parking for the whole day, without spending less than anything.

A side note: Sometimes paying the ‘kiosks’ while doing these steps, often lead to spending less than the fee at parking for the Mickey and Friends Parking Structure for the whole day. And, IMO, offer a less of a burden and walk than waiting another line for a tram and hoofing the Structure.

Take head: Please check ahead before performing these tips by calling ahead or, at least, checing the kiosks at the start of your day. Please follow these tips to a tee. If not, you could spend up to $35.00 max a day if you do not.

Every time I go, they either don't charge me....or accept my non-validated ticket, so I get the discount. If you want to park there the entire day, might not be a brilliant idea. If you want to hang out for a few hours, DD parking is usually free or really cheap.

Simba's parking lot is usually free too. Most times, they don't have anyone staffed at the exit.

I hate Mickey and Friends, refuse to park there.

I went to DtD yesterday and bought about $50 or merchandise at the ESPNZone store. I was told that recently all of DtD had changed their policy on validations for parking. The only way to get your ticket validated was eating at a resturant or going to a movie. Buying merch now won't get you a stamp anymore. What I found out though is if you really want to get the validation Rainforst Cafe is very liberal with their stamp and will stamp the parking ticket without a second thought. ESPN seemed to want to see a reciept from the resturant before issuing the stamp. Not sure about other places though.

I will echo the advice of waiting late at night to go home when the booths are closed. I'm guilty of doing that.

Officially, nowhere else unless the Parking Structure is full.

But in reality, basically any Disneyland Theme Park parking lot. The main entrances are the Main Parking Structure entrance off of Disneyland Drive going southbound. Also, using the entrance to Pinocchio is also no problem, but it tends to not be used any more.

Pummba, if it is open on Disney Way is no problem, in fact, Disney likes to full that lot as fast as possible, as Disney has to pay for the Anaheim Police to direct traffic on Disney Way (Public Roadway), and Police officers on overtime are not cheap.

The Timon entrance, off of Harbor Blvd is a mixed bag, the CM operating the Toll Booth might direct you to the Parking Structure (even because the other lots are closed, or that they are running out of space, and making the AP holders go to the Structure. You might also be sent to Simba.

Buzz Lightyear (Strawberry field) doesn't open until all the other lots are full, and if they are directing Disneyland Parking there, then they will accept your AP Parking pass. (If it is being used for convention parking, then you need to pay).
