  • OK, Just how packed will it be?

Here we are, east coasters who are traveling to Southern CA to be at the spot on July 17, 2005. Reservations are made, so we are all set. Based on all other past anniversaries, just how packed will it be?

Or it lands on a Sunday. What a coincidence: first day (black) Sunday July 17, 1955 and fifty years later Sunday July 17, 2005.

Has the Mickey and Friends concrete monstrosity, er, parking facility ever completely filled up?

I would think the crowds and traffic on that weekend could rival what happens at WDW on a Christmas or Easter morning when the lines stretch nearly all the way to the Cape.

On a typical summer weekend, the crowds are pressed so thight that should you die, it would take you a half-hour to fall over. On this day, expect it to take a full hour...... maybe 2.

I'd expect them to be turning people away at the gates within a couple hours after the park opens that morning. DCA should get a good boost in attendance just off DLs overflow on May 4th. May 5th and July 17th.

2.5 years ago, I went to DL on July 4th... Lines, lines everywhere. Only time I've ever seen the Jungle Cruise line go upstairs(over an hour for Jungle Cruise). Tried to leave as first Fantasmic! and fireworks ended.... What a mistake. Took me 2 hours to get to my car.

Expect the same this July 17th.

I'll agree with the "don't expect to ride anything" viewpoint

If you want rides you may consider DCA (I wonder how DCA will do with crowds will there actualy be enough overflow to make DCA seem pretty croweded too?)

I think you will be able to get one ride in, but "don't expect to be able to get to the bathrooms."

I know it's gonna be crazy packed! I plan on going both 5/5 and 7/17 so I'm curious to see which will be worse. I just plan on seeing everything new and of course make it on Space Mtn at least once. Other than that I just want to take it ALL in!!!!
My friends and I plan on showing up at the park by at least 5:30am to scope a good place in line. I want to be the first ones let in!!

who wants to bet that strollers/wheel chairs/electric wheel chairs will make it even more crowded?

I don't care how packed it will be. It's Disneyland's 50th B-day! I will be there in May and in July, having grand time with my friends.

                                A question..............
What if..... you bought a pass....... your not staying at a disney hotel and the park is full? do they turn you away? how do you use your ticket if its only good for so many days? do they refund you?? how many are in this position where they could be possibly turned away???

(I am ok going to WDW in April)
                                Yes, it is fast....

                                No, you can't drive IT.

                                Drive it like it's stolen.

Princess... Tickets don't expire unless they are a special promotion and yes, I predict people will get turned away on July 17th. I've seen it happen on a few July 4ths and such. A Disney refund? I'd like to see that...

I'll be there. Yes, it'll be mighty crowded... but I wouldn't have it any other way!

I thought it (park entry) was guaranteed too!

I wouldn't count on getting into the Park on the 17th just because you have a room.
I called the DH to extend my trip (which was initially scheduled from 7-15 thru 7-17) to include the night of the 14th as well. I was told that there is NO GUARANTEED ENTRY into the Park on 7-17-05. I talked to "guest communications" people at the Park and a bunch of people on about it and everybody is saying the same thing... If you want in the Park on 7-17, be there early and don't leave once you are there! I started questioning why I am staying on Park property...

stay on park proporty so it's easier to get up at some unheard of hour of the morning and wait in line so you can get in and risk being trampled

yeah, I hope they plan something big at DCA too I mean a show or something for all those people that can't get into Disneyland not that it'll do too much for em I'm betting alot of vacationers will end up there if they don't get up early enough, I wonder if downtown Disney will be croweded too (or if the lines will extend all the way back there)
