  • [Question] What the heck happened to the Grand Canyon?

Ok, so I was at Disneyland today with my goddaughter, her mother (my aunt) and my grandmother. We boarded the Fred Gurley (yes, I remember which train) in Tomorrowland heading to New Orleans Square. Of course, you head into the Grand Canyon and Primeval World dioramas.

We get in the dark and you hear the spiel about the Grand Canyon. We hear the music. Just one problem.

    It's still dark......not dioramas....(WTF?!)

Of course, it being dark in there (It doesn't help I am as blind as a bat with no depth perception) I'm thinking, 'Where the is freakin' Grand Canyon?' My goddaughter, who is 4 1/2 and in the middle of her 'afraid of the dark' phase (we can barely get her on Peter Pan) starts to wig out a little and can only be consoled by being passed from my grandmother, from me, to her mother. The Primeval World appears and all is well. But I still have one question...

(I'm assuming it's being refurbed or something, but does anyone have a more "solid" answer?)
