  • [Fun] Alternate Attraction Names

As a CM at Disneyland, and a regular park goer I am continually entertained at alternate names that folks come up for attractions, shows, and locations. Here are some common ones, feel free to add.

    Main Street U.S.A- Downtown Disney
    World of Disney- Disneystore
    Haunted Mansion- The Haunted House
    Matterhorn Bobsleds- Magic Mountain
    Autopia- Autotopia
    Monorail- the train
King Arthur's Carousel- the merry go round
Tower of Terror- the lift, the escalator (not common, but fun)

I'm sure some other regular park goers, and custodial/attractions CMs have a ton more.

    Haunted Mansion - Haunted House

    Matternhorn - Magic Mountain

    Fantasmic! - Fantasia!

Autopia - go Karts, Bumper Cars

HISTA - "Honey, I Shrunk The Kids"

Too many to name, from the top of my head.

I've heard several people call Nemo by its old name: 20,000 Leagues
Also, I've heard BTMRR called "the runaway train ride"

The subs at Disneyland were never named 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea...

It may not have been called that, but many ppl probably associate the submarines that they see in the lagoon with the movie.

My daughter has a friend who called Splash Mountain "Soak Mountain". I told her she can just go ahead and turn in her Disney Fan card now.

People also call Maliboomer by this moniker: Supreme Scream. Yup...they can't tell their knott's from their california adventures.

When I first saw this thread, I thought it was alternate names for attractions. These are some of mine:

                            -Galactic Land Mass
                            -Ursus Arctos Horiblilis Creek Scamper
-Frightening Structure of a Parallel Universe
-Journeys by Massive, Luminous Plasma Balls
                            -Stupid, aeronautical mammal.

Yup, it's at California's Great America in Santa Clara. This one guy I listened to after he got off was like, "Drop Zone is way better." Don't come to Disneyland and expect thrills.
